Fiji may be better known for its turquoise waters than its coffee, yet coffee production is quietly taking place on the islands of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu. Here, coffee grows freely in the forest rather than on commercial plantations, handpicked by local farmers and certified as organic - a rare origin producing a bold, distinctive cup as striking as the landscape itself.

Wild Jacu birds and Aracari Toucans select the ripest coffee cherries as part of their natural mixed diet, becoming part of the production process.

By placing value on their role, these coffees help encourage the protection of the birds and their environments, creating sanctuaries where these birds can live peacefully and freely consume the organic coffee cherries being grown in their natural habitats.

Gran Canaria is more than volcanic landscapes and Atlantic views - it’s a unique part of coffee history.

Coffee first arrived in the Canary Islands in 1788, planted in Tenerife’s La Orotava Garden, which was created by King Carlos III to grow exotic plants in the islands’ warm climate.

Today, coffee is still produced in small quantities on islands like Gran Canaria by family-run estates, with most of it enjoyed locally.

Our Gran Canaria coffee is sourced from the multi-generation Los Grimones Estate, owned by the Sosa family, and stands as a testament to the exquisite artisanal production for which the Canary Islands is known for.

Coffee in Rwanda is grown almost entirely by smallholder farmers, many of whom cultivate just a few hundred trees on steep hillside plots. Cherries are typically hand-picked and delivered to local washing stations, where quality is carefully sorted and processed. This collective approach has been central to Rwanda’s rise in specialty coffee, allowing small producers to access global markets while maintaining extremely high standards. The clarity and balance associated with Rwandan coffee is the result of thousands of small decisions made carefully, season after season.

In 1939, a monk returning from Burma introduced coffee seeds to Nepal, marking the beginning of the country’s coffee cultivation journey. What began as a small-scale experiment slowly took root in Nepal’s hill regions, where coffee was grown more as an agricultural curiosity than a commercial crop. Today, Nepal remains one of the world’s most unusual coffee origins, and one of our favourite bestsellers at Sea Island.

We roast coffee fresh for orders each day - but fresh doesn’t always mean ready. After roasting, coffee needs time to rest so excess CO₂ can release and flavours can develop. For medium roasts, peak flavour usually arrives around 1–2 weeks after roasting, with lighter roasts peaking later and darker roasts sooner. If your coffee was roasted only a day or two ago, give it a little time - it’s worth the wait.

Sea Island has carefully sourced the very best Yemeni coffees available, produced under the famous ‘White Camel’ label by Ahmed Alhamdani. The availability of this brand is very limited, with each coffee named according to the different areas in which they grow. All White Camel coffee is grown at altitudes of at least 1700 metres above sea level, depending on the region where the coffee is produced, naturally sun-dried on earth drying grounds, and sorted by hand.
