In May 2025, I was on the train from Dorset to the beautiful Walker-North’s wedding in London and remember thinking: I think I want to move to Italy.

One year and two months later, after an 800-page visa application, seven hire cars, and five months of loving the most beautiful land in Liguria, the DIGITAL NOMAD VISA for Italy is here ❤️‍🔥

It’s been the wildest, most uncertain ride where every pillar of life has wobbled, and all of the edges have stretched, and there’s been a lot of questioning of whether I’d lost my actual mind. I trembled while handing in the file on the 8th July like it was my heart I was passing over and the only question asked in the visa appointment was what kind of pasta flour I used – Italian or English – and I lost all the words.

But 21 days later, on the day of the Buck Moon, the visa is in, the wait is over, and the one-way flight is booked. NIPOTINA IS MOVING TO ITALY BB.

Postcards from Italia: July edition 💌

A season of pleasure and sisterhood; of sunset dinners at Antica Società Verezzi 1893 in Borgio Verezzi and sensational pasta (scialatielli with pistachio pesto, tuna tartar and black garlic), birthday waterfall dips, tending the rose garden, having plate after plate of parma harm and melon at the beach club in town, and mountain drives lit up with fire flies.

PART I: This life is not a rehearsal. On following your heart’s patterns 💌

In February, I left a tiny Airbnb in London with a bag of vintage clothes and a new fur coat, boarded the night bus to Heathrow at 3am and set out to Genoa…
