Summary:
Eve was tricked by a snake, which was actually being used by Satan the Devil. The snake lied and told her that she would not die if she ate the forbidden fruit. Eve believed the lie, ate the fruit, and gave some to Adam. Although Adam knew God's command, he ate it too.
When Jehovah asked them why they disobeyed, Eve blamed the snake and Adam blamed Eve. Because of their disobedience, Jehovah removed them from the Garden of Eden and placed angels with a fiery sword at the entrance to prevent them from returning.
Jehovah also declared that Satan, who had deceived Eve, would be punished. He promised that in the future Satan would be destroyed so that he could no longer mislead people.
