One week on from the Fete, the committee and our wonderful volunteers got together last night to reflect on the day… and what a day it was! 💚
We’re incredibly proud of what we achieved. In just our third year as a committee, successfully bringing the Fete to the Common was a huge milestone for our village.
The wind certainly kept us on our toes that morning! A last-minute rethink of the layout and plenty of behind-the-scenes teamwork meant we were ready to welcome you all. And wow… you came out in your droves and made every bit of the hard work worthwhile.
Thanks to your generosity and incredible community spirit, we’re absolutely delighted to share that we raised an amazing…
🎉 £5,425.35! 🎉
So, what does that mean? Quite simply… we get to do it all again next year!
📅 Save the date: Saturday 3rd July 2027
Having money in the bank means we can start planning early, invest in improvements to make the day even better, and continue supporting local groups and causes. We’ll agree this year’s donations at our committee meeting in September.
To make the Fete happen, we have to hire and buy many essential items, and we simply couldn’t have done that without the incredible generosity of our main sponsor Ascent Homes. Their support for our small village event has made a real difference, and we’re enormously grateful.
We’d also like to extend a huge thank you to all of our fantastic sponsors and supporters for their generosity, donations and practical help:
Northumberland Accountants & Tax Advisers Ltd, Longhorsley Ball, The Shady Ladies, Pickililly Dog Grooming, Taylor’s Agriculture Ltd, Kate Simpson Fine Art, Robson & Prescott Vets, Robson & Cowan Country Store, Hubbway Hire, Event Support Services, Simonside Country Show, Smallburn Farm, Fieldhead Farm, Cllr Glen Sanderson and everyone who kindly donated raffle prizes.
A special thank you also goes to every committee member and volunteer who gave up their time, energy and enthusiasm. Events like this simply don’t happen without people willing to roll up their sleeves and make them happen.
And finally… the biggest thank you goes to YOU. 💚
Thank you for coming along, supporting the stalls, entering the Industrial Section, donating to the tombola, creating fantastic scarecrows, cheering on the races and embracing everything that makes our village so special.
We’ll be signing off for the summer now, but keep an eye on this page… we’ve got plenty of exciting things to share before next year’s Fete!
Thank you again, Longhorsley. See you in 2027!
