Exciting update from our growing project…

The strawberry plants are flowering and the first ones have started to fruit. Our orchard has been planted with peach, plum, pear, apple & cherry trees and the rhubarb, mint and raspberries are doing well too.

Spring really is the most beautiful time of year and it’s been a joy to see all the fruit begin to flourish - all thanks to our wonderful gardener Catherine. We couldn’t do this project without your extensive knowledge and love for growing.

The Polytunnels will soon be a sea of delicious red strawberries 🍓 🍓 🍓 ☀️

PLANTING

1000 strawberry plants, tonnes of compost, 5 strawberry varieties, vertical and horizontal growing methods…. It’s an experiment to produce the finest strawberries for our lollies and has been a joy to see the project come together.

GROWING TROUGHS

We then had to create some bespoke growing troughs to work across our frames. Which turned out to be quite a challenging task. Thankfully the team at Elite Interiors Uk, based just around the corner in Lowestoft designed and hand made these fabulous ones for us. Recycling the otherwise discarded off-cuts from their production process which explains the rainbow colour palette.

We can’t wait to see how beautiful they look full of strawberries. 🍓
