This one pan peas & onion pulao is light, fragrant, and made with pantry staples — the kind of food that quietly comforts .

A complete meal to make your Monday nights easier.

Save it to try this week ❤️

🌿 Peas & Onion Pulao (serves 2–3)**

Ingredients:

• 1 cup basmati rice (rinsed and washed properly)

• 1 3/4 cups water

• 1 cup green peas (fresh or frozen)

• 1 medium onion, thinly sliced

• 2 tbsp oil or ghee

•2 cloves of crushed garlic

• 1 bay leaf

• 1 tsp cumin seeds

• 3–4 whole peppercorns

• 2 cloves

• 1 small cinnamon stick

• Salt to taste

•red chilli powder (optional)

•1/4 tsp pepper powder

•coriander powder

• chopped coriander

Method:

1️⃣ Heat oil/ghee in a pan or cooker.

2️⃣ Add whole spices + cumin, let them splutter.

3️⃣ Add garlic and saute for a minute , add sliced onions and sauté until lightly translucent (not golden) so 3-5 min is ok.

4️⃣ Add peas , mix and stir.Add salt, pepper powder, coriander powder and red chillies if using. Mix well and add drained rice. Gently mix.

5️⃣ Add water, taste and adjust the seasoning . Cover and bring to a boil on medium heat.

6️⃣ Cover and cook on low until rice is fluffy and done, takes about 8-10min.

7️⃣ Rest for 5 minutes, fluff, and garnish with fresh chopped coriander leaves.

Serve warm with yogurt, raita or pickle 🤍
