Restaurant review ..

Well another trip made and another restaurant visited and this was in one of my favourite cities … Chester .

We went to a restaurant called Moules a Go-Go Bar & Bistro and it was everything we want from an eatery .

The ombiance was good and the food was outstanding . I have attached a copy of the menu below to browse

Now if you like mussels then you’ll be in heaven and if you don’t there are many other dishes you can try .

Final post for now and it’s another restaurant review .

This one is the Ivy in Chester .
My partner Amanda took me on a date afternoon. I could have anything on the menu but we decided that the Two courses for £20 was really good value and went with that .
As usual we ordered and shared the meal and for starters we had Calamari in a chilli sauce and pea soup and a cheese crisp. The mains we went for were the aubergine , which was very oriental in presentation and taste. the other dish we chose was the Haloumi .
Amanda isn’t pescatarian like me but she does like lots of what I eat so it’s always good to share meals with her.

Now I could say it was ok for £20 and you get what you pay for but im not going to because it was absolutely amazing. The taste in my mouth was there for about 1 hour afterwards and I was still raving about it 3 hours later !

If you get a chance, go and sample this brilliant menu, it was amazing !

Firstly apologies for not being on for a few weeks … busy with work stuff ! But that doesn’t mean I haven’t eaten ! 😀
On Saturday I was in Chester, a beautiful city with lots of good and drink places but I ate in Chester Market at this Vegan place . It was amazing but unfortunately not worth the £16 I paid for it. Essentially it was a fake doner meat wrap and paprika chips but if it was £10 then i’d get one every time.
In my eyes it was very expensive . sound I eat it again… not at that price !

Just come back from another lovely break and carrying from the last few holidays , I ate dishes associated with that country . So as I was back in France via Switzerland .. we just had to try Fondue. Now myself and my partner Amanda went for 5 cheeses and mushrooms and it came with bread, potatoes and salad . It was good but not outstanding !

Well after a boozy night raving in Knutsford .. a good meal was called for today and that’s what I got ! Tonight’s offering is seafood Paella. 🥘

Now I am very grateful and I probably am the luckiest man in the world when it comes to getting meals made by their partner .

Amanda is without a doubt the best cook I have ever met . I have said in the past that she should go on masterchef as her cooking skills are amazing . Tonight’s offering was just seafood heaven !

morning and this is a simple Breakfast which I have craved for two days now and i’ll be honest I don’t normally eat this but I knew I was going to the gym this morning to work out .

It’s a take on McDonald’s egg McMuffin meal and made at a fraction of the cost … in fact it was about £1 a Mcmarland muffin ( copyrighting this 😂) .

Easy as get a toasted muffin with 2 x plastic cheese and and egg and a couple of hash browns to boot ! …. I need a hearty breakfast today …. Amanda is taking me raving later and im 52 !

When i’m on my own I like to cook hearty meals and there’s nothing better than a fake meat and potato pie, chips and gravy .

Essentially I mix onion, quorn meat and potatoes in water and reduce down the water until there is very little left and add the gravy . Simple ! … then Imake a flour and butter pastry , put the meat and potato into an oven dish and put the pastry on top in the oven for about 20 minutes . Chips are parboiled, then put in air fryer twice . Serve with gravy .

The result …. well let’s just say there’s none left !
