🥳 HUGE NEWS. Drops Margate is now officially a team of three, and things just got confusing but in a very good way… please meet Courtney! 💫

It feels like a momentous occasion for the shop and we couldn’t be happier to have (another!) Courtney on board helping us out a few days a week🕺

She has excellent taste in music (as well as names), is a bit of a gamer and is also a total animal whisperer - she’s even managed to get a tail-wag out of Beryl! 🐾

Courtney’s parents Maz and Dave (yes, actually!) are coming ‘Down To Margate’ from Grimsby for the Margate Soul Weekender Soul Weekender and have agreed to do a Northern Soul and Motown set in the shop between having a boogie at some of the stages.

2-5pm Saturday (and maybe longer!) expect baggy trousers, Fred Perry T-shirts and possibly some talc in the floor for sliding…

When ‘rops’ turned 1… 🩷🕺🪩1️⃣

It was so wonderful to see so many of you on our first anniversary/birthday - of course we took minimal pictures because we were having too much fun slinging pints and pouring Slow Beam.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support for our little shop. We’re so lucky to be a part of this community!

As part of , Drops are hosting an evening of English wine, good conversation, and great records with Pete from .

We’ll be pouring tasters of all three of their delicious wines and talking through how they make them. (Their Pet Nat Rosé is genuinely one of the best wines we’ve ever tasted).

£20 gets you three glasses and a proper good chat with the winemaker!

We’re also firing up the record player, so bring your vinyl.

Friday 12th June from 5pm. No ticket needed, just turn up and drink with us. 🩷

.maji is photographer ’s celebration of the shifting beauty of the ocean—from Sydney to Margate. Her work captures the power and symmetry of waves, the colours of the horizon, and the ways coastal communities shape sanctuary in partnership with nature. And we’re lucky enough to be showing her work at Drops.

Born in Coogee, Liz’s connection to the water began early, and years later in Tanzania, she discovered photography while working near the landscapes of the Serengeti.

BaduMaji brings these two worlds together. ‘Badu’ is the Gadigal word for their waters, and ‘maji’ is the Kishwahili word for water. This is a project that celebrates a lifelong, evolving relationship with the ocean 🌊
