Newport Memorial Hall cookery demo set up and ready for participants.

Beautiful setting - I can see the sea through the trees 💚🩵💚

Fruity, courgetty, spiced sourdough drop scones. Started yesterday. Ran out of time and left the mix in the fridge. Cooked them for lunch today.

Better than expected!

One of those where I wish I'd written the recipe down... from memory:

I started with a jar of very sour starter.

Added a few spoons of flour and a couple of spoons of Greek yogurt.

Grated in an apple and a small courgette.

Added a beaten egg, a generous handful of sultanas.

Spiced with ground cinnamon, ginger & coriander + a pinch of salt and a spoon of sugar.

Left in the fridge overnight.

Added a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda just before cooking in spooned dollops on the planc.

Eaten with mature red Leicester and Jamie's Pembroke microgreens (available every Thursday from the weekly market).

There are a wealth of excellent tips for eating well in these 'thrifty' cookbooks.

They all start with sage advice for how to eat well for less.

Like,

🗒 Make a shopping list.
🥫 Stock up on - and use - store cupboard staples.
😋 Don't go shopping hungry.

These tips are as important as the recipes, they're the foundations.

Now to crack on with choosing just a couple of recipes for the Hwb Cymunedol Sir Benfro - Pembrokeshire Community Hub 'Eat Well For Less' demos I'm doing.

The tree's noticed the change coming. Which got me thinking.

I've had some lovely summer days.

💻 Working days.

🌊 Beach days.

🌞 Long days of sunshine, long days of work time.

🍂 As autumn peeks out from the tree I'm taking a moment to reflect on the past few months.

And prepare for what's coming next.

Spiced apple cakes baked ready for Narberth & apple juicing day tomorrow.

Headphones help some folks to work.

This is me, on a train, listening to white noise.

I'm quite hot (as you can see from my pink cheeks!)

There's lots of smells, noises, movement.

The headphones help to block some of this out and I feel more settled. Able to focus on work.

I'm fortunate that I usually work from home and have lots of control over my environment.

A fair few of my coaching clients find headphones and their choice of sound/silence helps them to focus.

Though some don't use them at the office for fear of standing out or appearing rude.

It's ok to do what you need to help you to work at your best.

In appreciation of all the teal.

The more I learn about Clean Language and developing metaphors the more drawn I am to it.

It particularly appeals to me as a coach.

When I've worked 'cleanly' with coaching clients they have often developed metaphors which help them process or have a shift in perception.

Wonderful stuff.

Thanks for such a beautiful teal book Way 💚💙💚 (oh for a teal emoji heart).

The book is 'Clean Approaches for Coaches', for anyone who wants more teal in their life (and an excellent guide for coaching more cleanly).
