Well… that lasted all of about a month didn’t it 😂🙈

After saying I was sticking to making birthday cakes for family because I couldn’t deal with the pressure… here I am, taking on a cake order 😂

This was my first ever 6-inch heart cake, but the customer wanted something simple and elegant, similar to a design I’d done before, so I thought why not give it a go!

And I’m so glad I did because I’m actually really proud of how it turned out 🥹

Don’t get me wrong, I still stressed over every little bit but I absolutely loved making this one!

Does this mean I’m officially taking birthday cake orders now? Absolutely not… well, never say never apparently 😂🩵

A huge thank you to Chris who runs Your Local Farmers Markets, he puts so much time, effort and heart into making the markets what they are.

Chris really does go above and beyond for all of us traders, and it never goes unnoticed. The markets are always so brilliantly organised, with such a lovely atmosphere and a real sense of community.

I feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful market family, surrounded by so many lovely, hardworking people.

Thank you so much for this lovely surprise! We’re genuinely over the moon to receive the very first Golden Stall Award! We’re so grateful to Chris and we really enjoy being part of the markets and getting to meet so many lovely customers and fellow traders along the way. Ive had a few messages lately about sponges cakes and I’ve actually sold a couple of birthday cakes in the past and had lovely reviews… but I’ve just decided I can’t deal with the pressure 😂🎂

I’m such a perfectionist with them that unless the buttercream is absolutely flawless, I’m not happy… even though everyone else probably wouldn’t notice the tiny things I’m stressing over 🙃😂

So for now, I’ll save the birthday cakes for family, where there’s no pressure and if they judge me, they can just eat their free cake and keep quiet and luckily I don’t have to offer them a refund 😂
