Hi everyone... I'm unfortunately having to make this post not because I want to but because i simply have to. Posting customer conversations isn't something I am comfortable with as a business owner, however due to the nature and the way this enquiry was left I feel it's important for my business that I share.
This conversation was over the last few days, there is a few messages which have been cut out which were just arranging prices and toppers etc. However all other messages from this conversation I've arranged in order.
After multiple demands from this customer on how I need to make the cake and exactly how it needs to look and lots of back and fourth messages, I politely let her know I'm no longer comfortable making the cake and with the party date being 5 weeks away I was very confident she can find someone more suited.
It isn't very often things like this happen and like I said it's definitely not something I'm massively comfortable sharing online, but I will not have someone trying to tarnish my business and reputation which I've worked so hard to build by leaving negative reviews for no reason.
I always treat every customer the same, I never let anyone down and I will never take on an order I'm not 100% sure can meet expectations. I will always act professional on messages however when I'm being spoken to in such a way I may start to reciprocate the same energy back.
I'm 22 years old, I've had my business for 5 years and I work really hard every day. I won't have someone telling me how make my own cakes and then spamming me and threatening my business when I politely decline the order. I don't want any drama with this person at all and I hope they find a cake for their special event, but don't come at my business with threats when I have receipts!
I'd appreciate if anyone can let me know if they see anymore on this subject so I can settle what is right and wrong. Thanks for reading
