We ❤️

They are known for doing unreal breakfasts but we actually are obsessed with the main menu and lunches… it is GOOOOD!

Our favourites:

🥪 Butterfly club sandwich
🍝 Salmon carbonara

I legitimately dream of this pasta, it’s so so tasty. Loads of salmon and Parmesan and a nice mustard kick in the sauce.

Also the club sandwich is the best we’ve had in Newcastle so far and we take club sandwiches very seriously.

🍹 Who can say no to a Campari spritz?

Not dog friendly inside but we did manage to secure their outdoor table!!

Price (£-£££££): £££
Pro tip: Celebrating a special occasion? Tell the staff.. they will make it unforgettable

Queue?: 10 minutes with a reservation
Speciality: Charcoal grilled meat
Must try: The Wagyu! Wow

Important info: This restaurant is an absolute experience, it’s an absolute highlight of our trip!

Of course famous for inspiring the Izakaya fight scene in Kill Bill, the food is insanely good. The staff are amazing - they all welcome you into the restaurant - it has such a buzz. Cannot recommend highly enough. I celebrated my birthday here and it was incredibly special

Up next…. This is probably the most beautiful place we ate in Tokyo.. located inside Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden and surrounded by cherry blossom 🌸

Name: Tsuburano
Location: 11 Naitomachi, Shinjuku City, Tokyo 160-0014, Japan
Price (£-£££££): ££££
Pro tip: Go early! It closes at 3:30pm every day!!
Accepts reservations?: Only available the day before
Queue?: Not on our visit
Speciality: Traditional set meals
Must try: Their bento of the day!

Important info: They close earlier than most and sell out of certain meals!

This was the most lovely place we stumbled on by accident. Walking around the cherry blossoms in the sun we needed some food. The inside is big and is very relaxed like a cafe. You go up and order at the till and the menu has looooads of amazing set bento meals. It was really incredible food and flavours. Note: you have to pay to enter the Gyoen garden
