So last night Liam had the chance to attend .patisserie in Whitley bay for one of their new Greek food nights, it was BYOB so he took a bottle of Thymiopoulos Xinomavro from £17.50/£15.50 mix 6
The food was amazing proper home cooked and some of the best I’ve had outside of Greece I had
Greek salad
Mixed mini mezze
Lamb Kleftiko
Orange cake
It is preordered and prepaid so I highly recommend getting down to Honey Pearls in Whitley bay to book up as they can only seat a small amount of people per Saturday. Aris and the team have definitely raised the bar when it comes to Saturday night dining

Off to the Awards in our suits, finalists no less… didn’t win though…… So naturally, we cracked open a bottle instead 🍷

This time it was the Bacchus from - a winery Liam discovered a few years back and instantly fell in love with. Now it was finally my turn to give it a proper taste test.

Ironically, “saddle goose” used to be an old term for a fool… which feels pretty fitting for the two of us.

What makes these guys interesting is their minimal contact approach to winemaking, basically letting the wine do its thing naturally rather than overworking it.

And honestly? It works.

Loads of elderflower on the nose, then citrus and stone fruit coming through beautifully. Fresh, lively, slightly wild in the best possible way. Even more impressive considering Liam usually doesn’t get on with natural wines, but absolutely loves this bottle.

He originally spotted them at the and they’ve clearly left an impression ever since.

At around £29 a bottle, it feels like cracking value too, especially when you realise they only made 1,123 bottles of it.
