Another incredible sold-out weekend done, and as always, Iām feeling incredibly grateful for everyone who came down, and everyone who has pre-ordered for the upcoming weeks.
However, this morning, while out with Big Norm, I couldnāt help but feel sad thinking about some of the events over the weekend.
I was on site cooking for 32 hours across Friday and Saturday, and during that time there were two separate incidents where people felt they had no other option but to put themselves on the other side of the railings on two of Newcastleās bridges.
As someone who has had mental health tear through their life & family, seeing or hearing about something like this is always a reminder of just how hard life can sometimes be and how much people can be going through without those around them knowing.
There are nearly 10k BBQ lovers on here, so Iām asking all of you, but even if just one person does it, Iāll be happy,
Please check in on someone today.
A mate. A family member. Someone you havenāt heard from in a while. Just a simple āHow are you doing?ā could mean more to someone than you realise.
Sorry for the sad note on a Bank Holiday, but I believe BBQ is about community, and hopefully we can all do our little bit to look after each other. ā¤ļø
P.S. To the people who pulled up to film it youāre forever banned from Big Normās.
Look after each other
