Clathic Farm

Clathic Farm Clathic is 220 acres of highland Scotland. A herd of 150 red deer roam free over this area producing high quality venison as nature intended.

Clathic is a magical spot in Strathearn in the Perthshire hills. Our ground is south west facing with wonderful views down Glen Artney and Strathearn. Our deer live on the open hill, with large areas of pasture to graze on and also rocky crags and woodland to shelter from the worst of the weather and lochs to cool off in in the summer. Our philosphy is to try and handle the deer as little as possi

ble, we like them to be as nature intended. We do not wean the calves off their mothers, but leave the herds to roam together (stags, calves, hinds and yearlings) as they would in the wild. When the time comes to cull the deer this is done on the hill by trained marksmen, the deer do not encounter any of the stresses of being transported to abatoirs. It is then butchered locally by experienced butchers before being delivered to you. We have nutured, loved and looked after these deer from the time we first saw the young animals to the time that it is ready to be delivered to you.
