Bowler & Brolly is Aldi’s own brand that’s made in partnership with Lyme Bay Winery down in Devon - and I generally like LBs own stuff so I was very interested when I saw this yesterday, especially at £5.99 … unfortunately my curiosity was quickly stamped out upon trying it last night.

A decent Bacchus should have notes of Elderflower, Gooseberry, Lime & Grapefruit and a zingy acidity…
This one has some elderflower and white flower notes and that’s it.
It’s not revolting it’s just beige. I give it 1/5 frankly.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve heard someone say, “Nothing beats Champagne.”

Maybe they’re right.

Maybe they’re not. 😉

One thing I’ve learned over the years is that price, reputation and fancy labels don’t always tell the whole story.

That’s why I’m really looking forward to this one!

Pinot Blanc deserves more attention 🍷

This one from Trimbach in Alsace is a solid 10/10 😍😋.

Think somewhere between Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Riesling in style.

If NZ Sauvignon Blanc sometimes feels a bit too sharp or grassy for you, this could be your new favourite curveball.

Tesco Finest Semillon Sauvignon Blanc under the CorkNTalk microscope.
Made in Western Australia by Howard Park Wines, this is the kind of supermarket bottle that sounds promising enough on the label.

Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc can make a lovely pairing when the balance is right: fresh, zesty, textured and very food-friendly.

So what's my verdict?
