High Rigg with a pub visit - perfect if you’re staying at Flusco Wood and want to do a walk close by that’s not too strenuous

High Rigg was a lovely walk we did on an overcast day - but that didn’t deter from how lovely it was.

We parked at St John’s Church which has a lovely and polite sign stating you are welcome to park there, but please keep clear on Sunday mornings for church goers - so please respect this if you’re heading there.

We did the walk as a loop and had some stunning views on the way up and down. It really is a gem of a fell!

Afterwards we headed to the Horse & Farrier at Threlkeld for some food and a drink. The pub was warm and welcoming and had a lot of fires which will make it super cosy in the winter

Definitely recommended if you’re wanting a shorter fell walk to earn and pint or two!

Another great independent brewery located at the highest point of the North Downs Way in the Surrey Hills.

Lots of great ales and la**rs with lovely seating indoors and outside. They also serve coffee, brunch, lunch, and early evening food - it makes it a great location for whatever mood you’re in 🍻
