Firstly, we are very sorry that we haven’t been able to reply to all of your lovely messages over recent months. As many of you will appreciate, we don’t share everything about our lives behind the scenes, on social media and the last 12 months have been particularly difficult for us personally and professionally.
Over the last 6 months we’ve received an awful lot of messages asking about the Moo2Yoo milk hut at All Cannings and whether it would be returning once the new village shop had been built.
We feel it’s only right that everyone hears directly from us that sadly, the milk machine will not be returning to the village shop.
The milk hut was always a completely separate business to the village shop. We rented the site and obtained our own planning permission for both the vending equipment and the hut. As part of that process, we had to complete a number of assessments and meet specific building and environmental requirements to ensure the equipment was suitable for the location and would not negatively impact the local area.
Unfortunately, we were not consulted or involved in any discussions when the new shop plans were being drawn up. None of the specialist requirements needed to house milk vending equipment were included within the new building application, which means the new shop simply cannot accommodate the equipment needed for a milk vending operation within the raised bin storage area at the end of the building.
In addition to this, the original planning permission for the Moo2Yoo milk hut was effectively overridden by the new shop development plans. This would also have meant the milk hut becoming restricted to the shorter opening hours of the shop, rather than operating under the separate permissions and accessibility that allowed customers to use the hut more flexibly.
Naturally, we are incredibly disappointed and this decision has affected our business. The All Cannings milk hut was the very first milk hut we opened back in 2020 and quickly became the Moo2Yoo signature hut. It became a valued part of the village for many people, and we know from speaking to customers that many visitors who came to use the milk machine also supported the village shop at the same time.
When plans for the new shop were first being discussed we would have welcomed the opportunity to work together to continue offering that service to the community, but sadly that was not to be.
We wish the new shop success for the future and hope the new building serves the village well.
Finally, we’d just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who supported the Moo2Yoo milk hut in All Cannings over the years.
Your messages, loyalty and kindness have meant more to us that you'll ever know ❤️
