Hi everyone,
I am sorry for my absence but I really needed to get my head together.
If you follow me you know I have my dogs who are brother and sister Belle and Bear.
A few weeks ago Bear developed a cough. Being long haired we assumed to has swallowed some while grooming. After a trip to the vets they thought he was panting a lot. On listening to his heart they said it was galloping. Then came the ECG and his heart scan last Monday. We learnt then that Bear has heart failure and his heart is stretched. That day they gave us between 2 months to 18 months for him to live. That finished me off. He looks fine and is very much our loopy dog still
As a family the last two years have been hell. The dogs are with me 24/7. Belle is my cuddle bunny but Bear is my shadow, my protector and know when I am ill and before I'm ill. If you know anything about Shepherds you know they are super intelligent. There is a reason why military and police use them.
Anyway Bear is on medication to slow his heart down. They have to do this slowly to avoid a heart attack. His heart seems slower but we have a check up tomorrow so fingers crossed. Vets bills are not cheap especially medication and scans but he will have whatever he needs. I will be back come Thursday with recipes and things.
