A botanical vodka designed with Bloody Marys in mind.

Seaweed and tomato together amplify the umami in a Shanty Mary. Five hand-foraged British seaweeds bring savoury depth. Fresh Dorset-grown wasabi adds a hint of spice, yuzu and bergamot bring bright citrus, and a pinch of Dorset sea salt rounds out Shanty Seaweed Botanical Vodka.

Thanks to the local business that sent Dita our way today. She is an RNLI crew member from the Isle of Man, in Poole for sea survival training at the College. She popped into Shanty afterwards and left with both rum and vodka because choosing one was too hard!

Our Seaweed Spiced Rum has subtle seaweed notes. There’s much more to taste.

Cacao, ginger, yuzu, cassia and vanilla are part of a mouth-watering blend of 14 botanicals. The seaweeds add subtle umami depth, with a gentle hint of spice from Pepper Dulse, the Truffle of the Sea.

Together, they make a warm, rounded rum with layers of flavour to explore. Everything in balance, with no single flavour taking over. That’s how we bring a little of the coast to your glass.

Shanty pouring soon at Hotel du Vin Poole. 🌊

Our distillery is just two minutes’ walk from this beautiful Georgian hotel in Poole’s old town. Back in July, Hugh joined Clare and Emma for a proper tasting. Bloody Marys, Rumtinis, Stormy Seas with ginger b**r and Coastal Collins all went down a treat.

We’re excited to see Shanty pouring at such a lovely local venue. Here’s to good neighbours and coastal spirits.

Thank you, Lymington. Today was our first time at Lymington Charter Market, and it was good to be back in town after our visits to the Seafood Festival. A lovely crowd, with visitors keen to try a small sample and have a chat.

Everyone is welcome to meet us at our first Lymington Charter Market on Saturday 10 October. We have had great times at Lymington Seafood Festival and such a warm response from people here. Bringing a coastal spirit to this coastal town feels right at home.

Lymington's trading history includes a royal fair charter from 1257. Come and join us on the High Street to explore Shanty's coastal spirits and say hello.

If you run a local restaurant, bar or other business, please come and try our spirits. We would love to chat about what might interest your customers.

We'll be bringing Shanty's Seaweed Botanical Vodka and Barrel Aged Seaweed Spiced Rum, along with Wasabi Vodka and Yuzucello, which we make for The Wasabi Company. Samples and bottles available for adults aged 18 or over.

The market runs from 8am to approximately 3pm, weather dependent. Come say hello.

Fire cooking with a view.

Shanty was invited by The Saltwater Sauna group to their annual get-together at Lulworth Lodge, in its fabulous garden overlooking Lulworth Cove.

After a day of foraging and gathering seafood, there were crabs, lobster, squid and fish to prepare, alongside venison and vegetables. Luke Vandore-Mackay of High Grange, Devon was cooking over the fire, with everyone helping to prepare the feast.

Shanty was invited along for the group to taste. Thank you for the invitation and the warm welcome.

Pier Journal magazine launches Volume 13 at Patch Places tomorrow night, Friday 9 October, with another beautiful cover.

Donna’s taken more Shanty for behind the bar, with the bottles doubling as props for a few shoulder presses and arm curls along the way.

If you’re lucky enough to be attending, there’ll be Shanty cocktails to enjoy.
