A proper shout-out to the crew who absolutely smashed it at Jurassic Fields.

Delaney, Sophia, Liam and Adam. An amazing team who relentlessly grafted all weekend, serving up thousands of Shanty cocktails to a very thirsty festival crowd, always with a smile, and somehow still standing at the end of it.

Jurassic Fields was brilliant. Great atmosphere, glorious weather, a cracking line-up and a crowd that came ready to have a good time.

Our second year at Jurassic Fields, and once again it delivered.

Huge thanks to everyone who came to the Shanty bar, came back for another, and then quite often came back again.

And most of all, thank you to this lot. Couldn’t have done it without you.

There aren’t many places you can order a Shanty in a building with nearly 700 years of stories in its walls.

We’re delighted to now be behind the bar at The King Charles, one of Poole’s oldest pubs and a proper piece of the town’s maritime history.

Part of the pub was once connected to Poole’s medieval Town Cellars, now part of Poole Museum. In the late 1700s, a section was demolished to create the road through to the Quay, leaving one part with the museum and the other incorporated into The King Charles.

The timber-framed section is Tudor, dating from around 1550, and became an inn around 1770.

And there’s more to come. The King Charles will soon be opening its new tea room, where you’ll also be able to settle in with a Shanty cocktail or two.

A spirit born in Poole, inspired by the sea, being poured in a building that has stood beside Poole’s waterfront for centuries.

That feels rather right.

What a weekend at Jurassic Fields.

An absolutely banging line-up, brilliant people, a great atmosphere and sunshine from start to finish. The Shanty Bar was flat out, the cocktails were flowing and seeing so many people coming back for another round made the weekend for us.

Bridport, you were brilliant. We’ll be back.

We’re setting up at Jurassic Fields.
You’ll find the Shanty Bar right by the main stage all weekend, perfectly placed for a freshly made cocktail between sets.

With Scouting for Girls, Feeder, Goldie Lookin Chain, Freestylers, Dub Pistols, N-Trance, Artful Dodger, Bez and plenty more playing across the weekend, it’s shaping up to be a good one.

We’ll be making cocktails using our Dorset-distilled Seaweed Botanical Vodka and Barrel Aged Seaweed Spiced Rum, including Shanty Marys, fresh watermelon cocktails and long, cold serves with Fever-Tree mixers.

The gazebos are up. The Shanty Bar is taking shape. Come and find us by the main stage.

This is Jem from the RNLI Shanty Singers, popping over to say hello at the Shanty Bar while we were busy shaking up cocktails for a thirsty crowd at the brilliant EAT Festival.

These guys don’t just keep the great tradition of sea shanties alive, they sing to raise money for charity too. So we were more than happy to send Jem away with a bottle of Shanty Rum to help lubricate those vocal cords ahead of their upcoming gig.

Shanty Rum and sea shanties… a match made in Somerset.

The sun, the sea, and a weekend to remember! Poole Harbour’s 10th birthday party saw us pouring freshly made Shanty cocktails under the sun. The bar was alive with happy faces, some queuing patiently to get their taste of the coast. Here’s to many more shared moments!

Two Dorset brands. One seriously good collaboration.

We’re delighted to be the rum behind Purbeck Ice Cream’s Rum & Raisin.

Made with our Barrel Aged Seaweed Spiced Rum, it’s rich, creamy and packed with plump raisins soaked in Shanty rum, creating a smooth, indulgent ice cream with just the right balance of spice, sweetness and warming rum.

You’ll find Purbeck Ice Cream in cafés, restaurants, farm shops, visitor attractions and independent retailers across the UK. If you spot the Rum & Raisin, treat yourself – we think you’ll be glad you did.
