This Mac and Cheese was absolutely banging 👌 We had some roasted squash from the allotment, loads of cheesy sauce, and a shake of the old Worcestershire to finish. As Chris would say, back of the net ⚽️🥅 Served with a crusty baguette and no ketchup in sight. Weekend nosh at its finest 💯

Sorry there's only the one photo, we got distracted by all the cheesy goings on!

There are a couple of spaces in these groups at North End Baptist Church. Suitable to people who might be new to cooking and need a little more support. Details below ☺️

These are slower paced walks, where we take time to stop and observe the trees, plants and wildlife. It's the perfect mindfulness activity. 🌷Three more Wednesdays until our Stretch and Relax sessions come to an end(extended until the 30th September)! Its been a hot summer, with new attendees enjoying the wonderful surroundings of Victoria Park Portsmouth. If you would like to join us for the last three weeks, we would love for you to benefit from being outdoors in nature.

We will be in Victoria Park tomorrow for a 10am start, just bring a mat or towel and take some time for yourself to enjoy the benefits of nature, exercise and meditation at the end of the session. We would love to see you there! 🍁

As the summer season at Milton Piece Allotment comes to an end, we decided to throw a little party for all the amazing volunteers and attendees who have supported us over the last year.

We were delighted to welcome over 30 people, who enjoyed a delicious ploughman's lunch, complete with a fresh allotment tomato and basil salad, as well as a wonderful fruit salad prepared by the Ethnic Grow Project.

Cllr Pitt also came along to meet everyone and see the recent improvements to the site. We are very grateful for his support and contribution through the Community Levy Funding we received, which has helped make the refurbishments possible.

Everyone had a wonderful time, enjoying good food and great company. It's hard to believe in January the allotment was flooded and looking more like a building site 🤣. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered, attended, and supported Milton Piece throughout the year. We are looking forward to our autumn/winter season 🍁

Hi all,

We need your help!!

Thanks to Portsmouth 100, we have some funding to purchase a new weather resistant sign to welcome people to Milton Piece Community Allotment. This will replace our old wooden sign.

Below are a couple of initial designs based off the design on our old sign. We are also going to include our contact details :)

Please let us know which design you like...any other ideas or suggestions welcome.

📸Our free photography and mindfulness walk is back tomorrow, at Hilsea Lines (Foxes Forest). This walk is always full of interesting sights, and its a chance to take a slower paced walk while taking photos of the area and chatting to others. A chance to slow down and connect, all in the peaceful surroundings of the forest.

Did you know?
🪖Hilsea Lines was originally a military base built in 1544 and protected the city and port of Portsmouth from inland attack for 300 years, before the existing Lines replaced them in 1871 when the renewed threat of a French invasion prompted the construction of stronger defences. It has six bastions of bombproof casemates and a moat to the north and the expected invasion never happened and Hilsea Lines have never been used in battle.

Interesting facts!

We finish our walk at Casemates Studios & Cafe for optional refreshments if you wish to join, and we would love new members to come along to our walk. Our walk leader Rob will be covering tomorrow whilst Paul is on holiday, Rob would love to meet you! Just turn up with a camera or phone, and be ready to walk around the forest. We'd love you to say a big hello to Mike who has been attending Milton Piece Community Allotment since the start of the year! He's been a fantastic support, helping to keep the site looking great and making time to chat with other attendees.
He's also become a regular at our Pie Club, which inspired him to buy his own pie maker and start making his own recipes. Today's experiment is a chicken and leek pie, using leeks freshly picked from the allotment!

Thank you, Mike. We're lucky to have such amazing people helping make Milton Piece a welcoming space 💚🥧
