We had the huge privilege of welcoming the Jacob Sheep Society UK on Friday to the farm as part of their AGM weekend. I’m not sure we managed to convert any from the Jacob sheep world but it was a pleasure to show our stock and farm off and talk to so many interesting people.

Anna also had the honour of judging the societies Wool Cup held at the AGM next day, what a wonderful arrange of crafts were on display all made from Jacob wool, it was very inspiring.

🐷 🐖 I am organising another round of Nipna Pork boxes - it’s pork like you’ve never tasted before from pigs born and reared in the woods here at Home Farm - Nipna Native & Rare Breeds just outside of Catterick Garrison. Slow grown, beautiful tasting meat. Can be delivered locally (or collected) or it can be couriered.

This was a fun week earlier in the year welcoming the four groups from Brompton & Catterick St Annes Scout Group to the farm during a busy lambing time!

We still have some spaces for fully funded school and educational group visits to the farm, lambing time is over but we have a great space to cover all sorts of curriculum items, enjoy some freedom and learn about farms and farm life here. If you know a local teacher or school please feel free to tag them below to let them know we are here just outside of Catterick/Catterick Garrison at Brough Park 👇🏾

🌟 Wensleydale Lamb Hogget Boxes 🌟

I’m doing the first of my 2026 Hogget lamb boxes this week. These are native bred lambs born early 2025 so slow matured lambs that have great flavour and is a lean lovely meat all bred, reared and kept here at Home Farm - Nipna Native & Rare Breeds.

Pictured is a half box with a mix of joints, chops and mince

We do half lamb for £110 (about 9/10kg meat) or whole lamb for £205 and they can be delivered/collected chilled locally or courier nationwide frozen.

Can be couriered frozen (£18) or delivered locally or collected off farm fresh near Catterick.

Delighted to welcome the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and LEAF Education here today for the first of three days with a group studying for their CEVAS accrediation to help the host safe and impactful farm school visits. The group had a tour round the farm this morning and will be doing activities on farm during their next couple of days training.

First day ✅ for the CEVAS course - giving farmers the tools, knowledge and practical guidance needed to host safe and impactful farm visits… Day 2️⃣ tomorrow

Lambing 2026 is well underway starting on a very chilly 2nd January but they are all tucked away in the sheds 🐑

🐔 Finishing 2025 on a Flock high - the hens are back laying again!! Eggs are stacking up in the shed so please feel free to pop along to the honesty shed on the park - for those who haven’t bee before just come through the Brough Park stone pillars and over the cattle grid into the park. The honesty shed is at the cross-roads near the Home Farm sign.

£1.50 for half a dozen of the finest eggs you’ll ever find (in our biased opinion!) 🥚

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, 2025 has been very another excessively busy but wonderfully fun and successful year. We look forward to seeing where 2026 takes us but for now a few days peace and quiet (once the daily jobs are done of course!)
