How do folks!

Well that was a day! Unfortunately there is a snag with plan A for getting bottles.... We're currently working with the stockist for plan B!

Now we've taken a picture of the old and new bottles side by side but where is the setting!

Obviously there are other pictures here and we will leave those up to your guys interpretation!

We also took a trip to The Lancashire Mead Company to check to see if plan C could work. It can't!

In short, the bottle situation still isn't fixed but other things are moving!

How do folks!

Sorry it's been a bit. Obviously we were on holiday but then as we got home (for Mr Mead on the flight home) we became VERY unwell. Whatever we had (Mr Mead suspects food poisoning) took each of us out one by one.

Mr Mead got taken out literally as we were leaving Rhodes. On the runway! Mrs Mead was starting to feel a bit poorly but she really got hit the day after we got back. Then the day after Mini Mead got taken out!

Today is the first day we all seem to be better! But today we also have good news FINALLY! We have received our sample bottle!!!

So Mr Mead has inspected it, felt the weight, checked the cork size and they are exactly what we're looking for! So tomorrow a pallet, YES A PALLET is being ordered! Hopefully this means production is back on!

The new bottles do look bigger but Mr Mead checked the volume by adding 750ml of water and it fits perfectly! So we assume with the glass being thicker, the plunge being bigger and the neck being longer that it just looks bigger!

Everyone meet Busyio the bee! (Mini Mead named him!)

Safe to say Mini Mead liked the Bee museum!

How do folks!

I know, I know. We're on holiday. Don't tell Mrs Mead I'm posting! Shhhhhhh. Mr Mead managed to con Mrs Mead into going to the bee museum today in Rhodes. That's not a work thing right?

Well Mrs Mead cottoned on to our expedition and actually enjoyed it! But feel free to give it a look!

We may also do a photo collage of all the bits Mr Mead took photos and videos of!

Yes Mr Mead will find any excuse to work! Even on the holiday Mrs Mead booked to make him take a break 😂

How do folks!

We've got a PSA for you!

The heat this weekend is extreme! Please do not keep your mead in hot cars! We've had reports of people doing this and bottles have blown their corks and made a mess! We had some break their seal this weekend but then again we are always looking out for this.

Our meads are stable, they are not refermenting. The head is causing the liquid to expand and building pressure. Because the WAX seal is weakened when hot that pressure is blowing corks!

Unfortunately this may mean that we lose our iconic wax seal that everyone loves, but that is a decision we will make when we get our next lot of bottles.

Please treat our mead like your children or dogs and not leave them in hot cars. They don't like it!

If this has affected you please do get in touch and we will try to make it right!

How do folks!

Don't even ask how we got stock for Butterly. We are pulling out all the tricks we have!

Filters are now sorted! Bottles are almost sorted! They are sending a sample bottle to make sure we're happy, but then we will be ordering a pallet of bottles!

Bare with us. Things are moving. And of course we will keep you guys updated!

A warm welcome back to Dreaded Mead and taken from their website https://www.dreadedmead.co.uk/ A little bit about us...
Mead is the oldest known alcoholic beverage. the oldest bottle found in Europe dates back to 2500bc, and apparently could still be consumed today (not that we are sure how much you would want to!). Dreadedmead is a family run business aiming to bring mead into the modern age and to be drunk for everyone’s enjoyment (not just viking enthusiasts!).

How do folks!

As you all are aware we are going through some issues! Obviously the on going bottle issue may come to throw a massive spanner in the works! Good news is we've just got a price on a new stockist and it appears to work for us! Just gotta wait for them to send us some samples so we can make sure we're happy with them!

What you lot might not know is the company who made our filter machine went bump. We only found out last week when going to get filter pads! Now obviously without filtering our production was ground to a halt!

Now we must thank The Lancashire Mead Company as they have been supporting us though all of these issues. Last year they suggested the filter we have just bought (we decided best to keep using what we had). They are even the people who privately sent a message letting us know of THEIR bottle stockist! Honestly the love they have shown us while we battle is amazing!

Things are on the up! Just waiting for these sample bottles to turn up, works to be finished on site so we can brew again and now we have the new filter we can start bottling again!
