It’s Taking over! 🌍

Following the circulation of a video on social media, we carried out an immediate internal investigation. As a result, the employee involved was dismissed the following day. The actions shown were entirely unauthorised and represented a serious breach of our company policies. For clarity, the individual involved was not a family member, nor related to the ownership of the business in any way.

Our vehicle tracking data shows that the individual returned to their home address prior to the incident. The nature of the waste shown has been confirmed as personal household items, including packaging consistent with a domestic television purchase, and not business or commercial waste. The individual has admitted responsibility for this offence.

We have personally notified the local council, and the relevant authorities are involved. We are fully cooperating and will continue to do so.

We are sorry for the concern and frustration this incident has caused to our community. Fly-tipping is unacceptable, and we do not condone it under any circumstances.

We are also deeply concerned by the volume of racist comments and threatening messages that have been directed at our family and business as a result of this incident. These matters have been reported to the police, and we trust they will be dealt with appropriately. While we welcome fair scrutiny, abuse and threats are never acceptable.

For context, we are a small, family-run business that has operated for over 41 years across three generations. We take pride in serving our local community in Havering, including sponsoring the local girls’ football team, Hornchurch Tigers. We also hold legitimate waste contracts with a reputable local operator, Ahern, to ensure all business waste is handled lawfully and correctly.

We thank our customers and community for their continued support and understanding.

Following our urgent investigation into the video circulating on social media, we can confirm that the individual involved is no longer employed by Continental Ice Cream Foods Ltd.

The actions shown in the footage are completely unacceptable and directly breach our company policies and our responsibilities to the environment and the communities we work in.

We have also reviewed our procedures and are implementing additional controls and training to ensure this cannot happen again. We will continue to cooperate fully with the relevant authorities.

We sincerely apologise for the concern and frustration this incident has caused.

We also ask that reviews reflect genuine customer experiences of our services.
