This is why we do this 🌟

We hosted Cookridge Primary School over two days last week and had such a great time giving them a chance to explore Grasslands Farm 🚜

We explored growing crops, what we use some crops for, our cattle, the cattle handling system, chicks, had a sit on a tractor and even did some pond dipping, completed a map hunt and explored the woodland 🌳

We are fully booked for school visits in 2026 but hope to be able to offer them again next year, get in touch if you’d like your class to come visit 🖐️

Well there we are, we have finished calving! 🐂

Mindy has a beautiful little bull calf, she had him on her own with no help from us, just how it’s supposed to be 🐮

We’ve spent the last 6 months thinking we had a brown tractor but it turns out it’s green 🚜

After a long autumn and winter we’ve relieved the tractor of its muddy and mucky jobs and have finally run the power washer over it, a good job done we think! 😮

It’s great to have returning groups to come and visit us 🌱

Whilst commercial main crop potatoes are just finishing been planted this second early crop are motoring 🥔

A group from Carr Junior School planted these when they visited in March and will harvest them when they return next month.

Those that have had proper new potatoes will know you can’t beat them 😋

We loved our visit from Tang Hall Primary School yesterday 🙌

We got up close to the cattle, worked out which cereals make some of our food, met the cute twins that arrived earlier in the week, sat on a tractor 🚜 🐂 🌾

Not only did we explore around the farmyard we ventured down the fields to see growing crops, did some pond dipping and got the chance to venture into the woodland to hear the birdsong, all with help from The Country Trust🌳 🐸 🐦
