Acorn our donkey foal was perfectly behaved as he accompanied his mum, Doris, at Hertfordshire County Show for his second show ever!

He took it all in his stride like he’d been doing it forever and won best foal for the second time.

Acorn is good to handle, picks up all 4 feet, has seen the farrier, is bold and inquisitive.

Photos of dam and sire can be seen, sire has won supreme national in hand champion and Dam has the sweetest personality.

He will need a home with another donkey for company.

We are so proud of our students for the showmanship and team work they have displayed today in very warm temperatures and very competitive classes.

We entered the most sheep classes we have ever entered on a single day and from 8.30am-2.30pm we were pretty much constantly in the ring, with all students cheering each other on and supporting smooth class change overs.

Highlights of the day include;
πŸ‘ 3rd placing in Hill and Heath shearling ewe out of a very strong class of over 15 sheep
πŸ‘ 1st placed intermediate young handler qualifying for the RBST Young Shepherds Grand Final
πŸ‘ 1st placed senior shepherd in an enormous and competitive class
πŸ‘ Reserve Champion young handler with Kiera the handler and Theasu Kiera the sheep
πŸ‘ Plus some students first time in the ring looking like they’ve been doing it for years!

All thanks to Hertfordshire County Show for a lovely day for our students, staff, and sheep

Another wonderful weekend of showing, and this one was a scorcher πŸ₯΅

Saturday saw a return to the donkey ring at Hertfordshire County Show. All donkeys and handlers went well in their classes for a flurry of rosettes including Annabel going 1st in Young handlers πŸ‘πŸ»

Our foal Acorn was foot perfect for his second show, finding the whole thing utterly exhausting but still managing to go round with his mum Doris in the mares class, and 1/2 the young handlers class.

Today (Sunday) we are showing sheep- update to follow!
