It's been planting, planting and more planting this week, trying to make the most of this rainy weather to water in all my seedlings.

It was way to hot to plant anything last week so I've been playing catch up.

Getting the beds slowly filled there seems to be an awful lot of seedlings still left to plant and bed space is filling up! 😬

Very proud of my 5 petunias that I'm trialing this year for cut flowers. Last year I lost the seedlings, no idea where they went, they didn't get planted but I also couldn't find the label on any seed trays! 🤷

Everything just needs netting because it's howling gale and I obviously did not stake my autumn sown stuff! 😂

Pretty mistake! 😍
I sowed these cute little silene seeds in autumn and I must have misread the height information when ordering the seeds because they are 6" tall, beautiful little mounds of pink fluffy flowers! 😍

Going to have to dig out the seed pack to double check it's not a first year thing and they might bulk up next year, if not I will move to the garden where they can live out their life!

In the meantime any florists need 6" high silene? It's cute 🤣

Seedlings, seedlings and more seedlings!🌱

How's everyone coping with this heat? I'm currently surviving on a wing and a prayer! 😂

Somehow I've only lost 5 snapdragons (so far) and one tray of gypsophila.
I got everything I could under some form of shade and giving them an evening water and hoping for the best because there is only so much I can do. For me keeping them in their trays makes it easier for me to water in one place. It's way to hot to plant anything I would have definitely cremated more stuff if I had planted it out.

It's is now past the hottest of the days and tomorrow and Friday is definitely cooler with a slight chance of rain 🎉 then it will be the great planting out! It's going to be a busy week next week to get everything in the ground but I can't wait, it's been quite challenging with the cold then the heat. I will be pleased to see them all tucked into their final place!

How have you fared?

The day after Bryony and Darren's wedding I came to collect the flowers and she came up to me and said they were amazing, I almost cried!

I was so utterly proud of myself, it was my first big-ish wedding and I had achieved it. It was that point that I knew this it what I want to be doing, growing flowers and doing weddings. It's where I belong and I can actually do it and I am flipping good at it!

I am so glad for my time sewing costumes, it taught me a lot. Colour schemes is definitely something I picked up from that. But careers don't have to be for life, I used to feel guilty about that but it's hard to feel guilty when you are surrounded by flowers. Yes it's hard, 32° heat in May is hard but I enjoy every minute!

Thank you to Emma for helping out and her husband
For capturing our 3pm delirium so well!

My first styled shoot last week and it was amazing!
It was a very relaxed vibe we were going for with a marquee and a gorgeous bothy to style. We went with very hedgerow style flowers, lots of froth, cow parsley, hawthorn, sweet rocket, alliums poking through and some of my butterfly ranunculus.

The milk churns adorned the sides of the marquee entrance and everything moved to make the most of all the flowers. It was such a fun day meeting everyone with an equally yummy lunch provided by and the photos are so beautiful it was hard to pick so I picked loads! 🤣

When your friend says do you want some help you never say no!

900 plant babies in the ground and compost spread. We almost melted but it was such a good start to the new patch!

Thank you Tanya .co and basil 🐾 for spending your Saturday covered in dirt!

Funeral posies

I was honoured to make 8 little posies to tie onto the side of the casket for a lady in which flower arranging was a huge part of her life.

These were made using all seasonal blooms, ivy, hawthorn blossom, the last of the narcissi and the first of the allium. Added at the end were little moss wrapped violas to compliment living wreath that adorned the top of the casket.

A celebration of flowers for a flowery lady.
