Situated in the heart of the Somerset Cheddar making area, just 10 miles from the village of Cheddar itself, the South West Cheese awards are set to return to the Mid-Somerset Show. The South West Cheese Awards launched at the Mid-Somerset Show in 2011 – The Mid-Somerset Show is one of the most established agricultural shows in the UK. Each year the show receives more than 17,000 visitors, and is

the only agricultural show in the area to offer free entry. This year’s show takes place on Sunday 16th August, with judging of the Cheese Awards taking place on Saturday 15th August.

With classes covering everything from Cheddar to Cottage Cheese, there's a class for cheesemakers of all sizes and specialities. We're also proud to offer an Artisan Section for smaller producers making less than 400 tonnes per year, providing a fantastic opportunity to showcase your craft and compete with the very best.

⏰ Late entries will be accepted until 27th July at an increased rate, so make sure you get your entries in as soon as possible. The Cheese Awards entry deadline is 27th July.

Returning favourites like our popular Cheddar classes, alongside exciting new additions including a Cottage Cheese section!

We warmly welcome wholesalers to enter, alongside producers of all sizes. Our Artisan classes are specifically for manufacturers producing less than 400 tons of product per year, ensuring smaller producers have their own spotlight.

📍 Convenient entry drop off points available in both Somerset and Preston.
