As a very sensitive coeliac, I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here!

The staff were really reassuring and knowledgeable about gluten free options. They double checked ingredients with me, showed me the bag of chips to confirm ingredients, and explained that the gluten free food is cooked in a separate fryer. There were also clearly marked GF options on the menu which made ordering much less stressful.

It’s honestly so refreshing finding somewhere that takes coeliac disease seriously and makes you feel safe eating out. I’ve had no symptoms afterwards at all, so I’m very happy with the experience 😊

This was the pier location inside near Captain Kids — I’ve yet to see if the Fantasy Island one is the same standard!

📍 Wolfies Wine Bar

This place is great for both lunch and dinner, and it’s become a regular spot for me.

The menu is clearly marked with loads of gluten-free options, which makes it so much easier when choosing what to have. The staff are really helpful too — if you ask, they’ll talk you through things like the fries and what’s safe.

One thing I really love is that gluten-free meals come out with a little flag in them. It might seem small, but that extra reassurance goes a long way and shows they’ve taken care.

I’ve also been for their Sunday dinner, and it was incredible. There were multiple gluten-free options available, and they even brought me my own gluten-free Yorkshire pudding along with other bits. The team behind the carvery were amazing at explaining what I could and couldn’t have.

A bonus is that it’s right in the centre of town, so it’s perfect if you’re out with family. It’s dog-friendly as well, which makes it even better, and just a really good all-round spot for everyone. Make sure to order your dog a pup cup from here!

Definitely recommend whether you’re going for a normal lunch/dinner or a Sunday roast.

📍 Tarantino’s

Another amazing restaurant with some lovely gluten-free dishes.

I come here a lot, especially for the Valdostana — it’s one of my favourites. The chips are gluten-free, and what I really like about this place is that they offer so many chicken dishes that can be made gluten-free, which is a bit different from most places.

If you ask, they’ll also try their best to adapt other dishes to suit gluten-free, which is always reassuring.

This is probably the restaurant I visit most frequently in Skegness. As a really sensitive coeliac (I’ve been set off by something as small as crumble before), I’ve never had an issue here. And as you know, when you find somewhere safe, you keep going back.

In the summer, they open up their conservatory area which is absolutely lovely. I’ve also had the occasional takeaway from here, which is just as good.

Would definitely recommend giving it a try!

📍 Aroma

Visited this Italian recently and had a really lovely experience. The staff were super reassuring and even came over to let me know I couldn’t have the chips as they’re cooked in the same fryer — which I really appreciated instead of just being served them.

They were clearly knowledgeable about gluten-free and there were loads of options on the menu. I was even able to have a starter, which was a nice bonus!

The service was absolutely lovely and the atmosphere in there is really nice too! I’ll be back to try more dishes!

Look at all the GF logos on the menu ✨

📍 The Olive

Went here the other night and it was absolutely fab. There are loads of gluten-free options including pizzas, pastas and even chips.

The waitresses (especially the younger food runners) were amazing, it goes along way when all the staff are educated, really reassuring and confirmed the chips are cooked in a separate, safe fryer.

I didn’t worry once while eating here, the staff were so on it and made the whole experience really comfortable.

Would definitely recommend! I’ll be back for a pizza soon!

📍 The Farmhouse Bakery, Skegness

I actually found this place through their TikTok and had no idea they did gluten-free options before!

Went in and the staff were really knowledgeable. I had a jacket potato with cheese and beans — a classic — and it was massive. The portion size was unreal (and yes, I ate it all).

As you know I’m a very sensitive coeliac and get set off easily, but I’ve had a few gluten-free people tell me to go here!

This is definitely my NEW lunch spot, alongside Bon Appétit, especially if you want something quick and easy on the go. They’ve got lots of other bits as well.

My partner isn’t gluten-free and he’s obsessed with the cakes, so if you’re going with someone who isn’t GF, they won’t be disappointed either.

Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area, wonderful family owned business! I’ve also ordered from .Cakes before and that’s absolutely fab aswell always order cakes for celebrations from here for personalised cakes!

Easter Treat Update!

Just a little heads up for anyone who’s coeliac (like me!) — Mini Eggs and Creme Eggs are not labelled as “may contain” gluten and are considered gluten-free.

Always double check packaging just in case ingredients change, but as it stands they’re safe for us gluten-free girlies to enjoy this Easter ✨

Sharing in case it helps anyone else who worries about hidden gluten! 🤍

📍Atlantic Fish Bar & Diner

After a few requests to try Atlantic Fish Bar in Skegness, I finally tried it out today and I genuinely can’t believe I haven’t discovered this place sooner!

They have a FULL gluten-free menu, which also had a kids GF menu. They use a separate fryer, I watched them wash their hands before preparing the gluten-free order, and you can actually see them using the separate fryer, which made me feel so safe and confident eating there. They even have gluten-free vinegar too 👏

The portion was a good size, the food was lovely, and overall I’m so happy with this place. Such a relief to find somewhere so coeliac-friendly in Skegness.

I’ll 100% be back in the summer! xx
