🎉 A little Hollowbread milestone! 🥂🍾♥️
At the beginning of June, there were 300 of you here… and in just three months, 80 more sourdough lovers (or future sourdough lovers 😉) have joined me!
Many of you have already tried my bread, some are still carefully watching from the sidelines… 👀
Come on, you know you want to! 😄🙃
I’d love to see 500 followers one day, of course; but honestly, numbers are only part of the story.
What makes me happiest is baking more bread, trying new sourdough creations, and sharing a little homemade goodness with more of you. ♥️
So here’s to the next 120 followers… and, more importantly, to more sourdough, more fun and more delicious reasons to turn on the oven! 🔥🥐

🥕 Not just bread… apparently I bake cakes too! 🍰😉

One of my neighbours on the estate asked if I could bake a carrot cake, and as I always try my very best to make my customers happy, I said yes! ❤️
Although bread is my first love (don’t tell the cake! 🤫), I occasionally have the time and capacity to take on a special cake request too. So, if you have a celebration or simply fancy something delicious and homemade, feel free to ask!
I can’t promise I’ll always have a free baking slot, but if I do, I’ll be more than happy to help! 🥰🍰
After all… a little bit of flour, butter and love can solve quite a lot! 😉❤️

♥️WHAT MAKES A BREAD TRULY GREAT?

Today I was looking at some of the bakeries considered among the best in the UK. Their breads are beautiful, slowly fermented, handmade and created with passion.

And it made me think about my own little bakery, Hollowbread.

I am not a big bakery. There is no production line, no factory and no team of bakers behind me. Just me, my hands, my sourdough starter and a passion for creating something delicious. ♥️
Every loaf is mixed, shaped and baked with care. I am constantly learning, researching and trying to improve, because I believe there is always something new to discover about bread.

Maybe one day Hollowbread will be mentioned among the best little bakeries in the UK. 😉🥖
But for now, my goal is much simpler: to make every customer who takes home a Hollowbread loaf happy.

✨ There are no coincidences… especially at Hollowbread! 🙃

This morning, I woke up to a message from someone asking if I could make small sourdough bread boules to serve soup.
My first thought was: Ooooh… that sounds interesting! 👀 So I started doing some research, thinking about the best size, shape and baking method. Then I fed PETi, my trusty sourdough starter, and put the idea aside for a little while.
Fast-forward to this afternoon…
Another message arrives. This time, someone was desperately looking for something special for tomorrow’s goulash dinner. 🙂

And guess what they needed?

Exactly the same thing. 🤯😂

At this point I thought… Okay, universe. I’m listening! 😂

So here I am, in the kitchen, experimenting and baking my first little sourdough soup/goulash boules ♥️ fingers crossed that all my research, calculations and PETi’s hard work have paid off!

If these little beauties turn out the way I’m hoping, they might just become another very special Hollowbread creation. ♥️

Because apparently, sometimes you don’t need a business plan…All you need is a hungry customer, a craving, a hearty goulash, and a highly active sourdough starter. 🤣
Wish me luck! 🤞🍀
