Great to see the next generation of environmental work taking shape at JSR 🌱
Since joining us in August 2025, Will Heap has been getting stuck into life at JSR Farms, in particular at the Chalk Stream Sanctuary, helping to monitor wildlife, map habitats and support our long-term conservation work.
Working alongside Mark Richardson, who has spent over 45 years at JSR and has helped shape our environmental stewardship. It’s been brilliant to see knowledge and experience being passed on.
From wetlands and grasslands to woodland and chalk streams, the work happening here is already making a real difference for biodiversity.

We’re also now supporting projects beyond JSR, offering ecological surveys and advice to help others enhance habitats and deliver Biodiversity Net Gain.

🚛🎄 We all know the Coca-Cola lorries mean Christmas…. But these lorries are delivering something just as important — potatoes 🥔😉

Our team at JSR Farms has been working hard loading lorries heading to Cockerills, helping make sure Christmas dinners are sorted.

A huge thank you to all our hard-working staff for their dedication throughout the year.

JSR Farms is looking for a full-time Class 1 HGV Driver to join our friendly, experienced agricultural haulage team based at our Green Lane storage facility in Nafferton.

You’ll be delivering a variety of agricultural loads including; grain, animal feed, seed potatoes and organic manures. This role may involve nights out and weekend work.

✅ ADR qualification desirable but full training provided✅ Forklift experience helpful but not essential✅ Competitive salary (dependent on skills & experience)✅ Generous pension & company health scheme

Our Harvest 2025 Review is now available to read on our new & improved website. 🌾

Starting earlier than ever on 8th July and finishing in record time by 12th August at Southburn, this year’s harvest brought its fair share of challenges, but also some pleasing results:

🌾 First wheat averaged 10.45 t/ha, peaking just under 13 t/ha
🌾 Winter barley exceeded 11 t/ha in key blocks, with specific weights over 70 kg/ha
🌼 Oilseed r**e reached a record 5.25 t/ha, mostly harvested dry
🥔 Seed and ware potatoes have delivered good yields & quality despite the incredibly dry season

Cultivating and drilling is well underway at JSR Farms as we sow the seeds which will be harvested in 2026. This year we are trying a new variety of G4 Winter Wheat, RGT Hexton, which promises to be versatile and reliable. We will let you know the verdict in summer 2026!
