What’s the best thing about bee keeping? There are so many positives to looking after bees…

But there’s such a lovely feeling when someone gives you some baking they’ve done with your honey 😊😊

This flapjack was indeed 10/10 ❤️
Thank you!

Today we are treating some of the hives for varroa mites.

All our smaller colonies were treated last month. Now we are treating the hives that have come back from the heather and the honey supers have been removed.

We never treat when honey supers are on the hive. All treatment batch numbers are logged.

If untreated, the mites can overrun and decimate a hive.

Another successful evening at the Staindrop Women’s Institute ❤️

We are so happy the honey tasting went down well, and even people who don’t like honey appreciate the difference in taste for raw, unprocessed honey.

Thank you ☺️
