Another day… another hamper being mailed out.
This is our Abbotsea Dorset cream tea hamper which contains to very large sweet Dorset buttermilk scones, two large Dorset sized fruit buttermilk scones, two jars of our homemade strawberry conserve, two pots of Dorset clotted cream, two drinks of your choice, in this case- one loose breakfast tea along with its own separate tea bags to use and one Sumatra cafetière coffee.
This is a serious cream tea for serious cream tea lovers! Those scones are a meal in themselves!

Lots of lovely Mother’s Day hampers headed out this week….
The scones in this picture are from our Dorset w***h hamper with red velvet scones with large pieces of Belgian white chocolate in, they are extremely delicious… top that with our homemade strawberry conserve made with New Forest strawberries and a lovely big dollop of Dorset clotted cream -(yes in that specific order as we are in Dorset) and your Mum is sure to be impressed!

The Dorset Handmade love is spreading wider around Dorset.
We have a full, replenished dresser in following being almost completely wiped out of granola and our biscuits. Well worth a visit in there to see the cornucopia of handmade, locally made wares of all manner, not just food!
You can also now find some of our preserves in the Udder Farm shop and The Dorset Hamper company also are now using some of our preserves in their hampers…..

Seville Orange season is in full thrust in our kitchen at the moment.
We steam the whole fruit in our fancy oven before scooping out the flesh and pushing that through a sieve by hand then adding back the steamed peel and the surrounding liquid.
We then adding sugar and boil it up to setting point. There is nothing more than Seville oranges and sugar in our marmalade, you can’t get purer than that!

We have been busy here making four fruit marmalade here in our Sidings kitchen. Ours is made with orange, lemon, lime and ruby grapefruit.
Not as bitter as Seville marmalade, this one is sweeter and you most definitely can taste all four of the fruits in this preserve.,
We cut the peel really small rather than shred it as we prefer it that way, we think it’s easier to eat and spread onto your toast. Feedback is always really positive from our customers.

Our rebranding is coming along nicely!
Soon we will be able to offer more variants of our handmade preserves from our website.
These things always take much longer than i want them to but when we get there it’s very pleasing indeed!

Handmade raspberry jam!
We make all our preserves in small batches in our kitchen. Our raspberry jam is definitely up there with one of our most popular jams. It’s a classic!

Our delicious Abbotsea Dorset cream tea hurtling its way to the coastal part of Dorset for a birthday.
This hamper contains two of our handmade buttermilk fruit scones and two of our sweet buttermilk scones, two jars of our homemade strawberry jam made with New Forest fruit, two pots of Dorset clotted cream made by Craig’s dairy in Weymouth, two sachets of English breakfast tea from Reads Coffee roasters complete with its own separate tea bag’s. Then a personal handwritten message for the recipient.

Another of our Dorset cream tea hampers hurtling its way over to East Dorset this time so not as far as the others this week!

This was another of our Casterbridge hampers which contains four of our large scones, a pot of our homemade jam, clotted cream and drinks of your choosing.
Happy weekend to our recipient - you would have to be impressed when you get given this box by your postie right?

It still thrills us every time we pack a hamper, we have a few going out this week which is beyond exciting as Google is starting to realise we exist!
This Dorset cream tea is our Casterbridge Hamper, it contains two large fruit scones, two large sweet scones, a pot of clotted cream, pot of our homemade strawberry jam and in this case the customer has chosen our lovely loose breakfast tea as the accompanying drink which comes complete with separate tea bags. So you don’t need to worry whether your recipient has a loose tea pot or a tea strainer as we have it all covered.

One of the things we are most proud of is the fact we make as much as possible of the products that go into our hampers. We think that makes us quite rare!
So it’s no surprise that we make our own strawberry jam for our Dorset cream teas. We use New Forest strawberries all year round which allows us to boast a provenance.
Our jam is lightly set, in fact it’s more of a conserve but when you see those pieces of whole fruit and the jam literally oozes over the scones then that’s when you know making the jam by hand in small batches is all worth the effort!
