Unite the herd!

For the first time we have brought all our cows together (minus Connie) in one big herd.

93 head of Beef Shorthorn Cattle here.

They will be out the back of Crosshouse playing fields for the next wee while so if you’re in the area please enjoy the view 😍

All the cattle are back home on the farm for the first time!

We have our SAC High Health scheme blood tests tomorrow with the vet and we’re going to vaccinate for Bluetongue and worm dose while they are in.

Looking forward to a big day with cattle and of course we’ll make a fun vlog out of it. 😃

These three will be going into meat boxes after we put a bit more of a finish on them.

We’re hoping to sell them for collection locally so will update you when that’s happening.

We’re also talking with the team at the Cochrane Inn about doing a Beef Shorthorn week where all the steaks / burgers come from one animal born and raised within half a mile of the restaurant. I think it would be brilliant so watch out for that too.

Today’s lesson with mum: The Last Side

After we told Jock that young Cameron Barclay (This Farming Life fame) was making £200 a day shearing sheep at 15 years old he said we better get him started 😆

Mondays and Thursdays are the days that Jock is on the farm himself and he’s a much nicer boy when he’s not tormenting his wee brother and sister all day😅

We’re just having fun and making memories on the farm ❤️
