Kilwhang Whisky

Kilwhang Whisky Kilwhang: an old nickname for Stonehaven, honouring our town’s heritage and coastal spirit. Slàinte! Slàinte,

Inspired by Stonehaven Harbour, we bottle whisky with authenticity, provenance and local pride. The name "Kilwhang" is rooted in Stonehaven’s heritage, an old nickname for the town that reflects our deep local connection. It embodies tradition and a genuine nod to the community where our whisky is born. Our logo reinforces this bond - a simple, striking outline of Stonehaven Harbour with the words

“Speed Limit 3 Knots,” evoking the harbour’s character and the town’s timeless coastal spirit. These elements together give Kilwhang its authenticity and charm. It’s a tribute to Stonehaven’s legacy - crafted by locals, for those who appreciate place, provenance and great whisky.

Club Members,
As you are aware - to mark 50 years of Mackie RFC, we’ve teamed up with Kilwhang Whisky to produce a one-off, club-only single malt bottling – and it’s shaping up to be a cracker.

This is a limited run of around 200 bottles of 11–12 year old, cask-strength single malt Scotch whisky, bottled specifically for the club. Each bottle will cost £75, with money from every sale going back into Mackie RFC.

We have now secured orders for around half the bottles so we urge you to subscribe now so you do not miss this unique opportunity.

👉 No payment needed just now – we’re simply asking members to register a firm intention to buy so final numbers can be confirmed.

What happens next:
🔸 Final whisky details confirmed: End January
🔸 Bottles ready: March 2026
🔸 First come, first served

To reserve bottles (or ask questions), email:
[email protected] (Please include how many bottles you’d like.)

This is a proper one-off to celebrate 50 years of the club — once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Cheers,
Mackie RFC / Kilwhang Whisky

Kilwhang’s very own Graham Robson delivering the ‘Address To A Haggis’ at the The Marine Hotel.
Word perfect every year and once again met with a room full of applause.
- Tradition done properly.
- Performance delivered with authority.
- Whisky raised in the right spirit.

Well done Graham, another outstanding performance. 🥃

We’re often asked: “What exactly is an Independent Whisky Bottler?”

In simple terms, we don’t distil whisky ourselves.
Instead, we select individual casks from distilleries we respect and bottle them independently, making our own decisions about how, when or even if a whisky is ready to be released.
To Kilwhang, that independence matters.

It means we’re not tied to production targets or core ranges. We’re free to focus on character rather than volume and patience rather than schedules.

Some casks are bottled when they’re ready.
Others are left to wait.
And some unfortunately, are never released at all.
Each Kilwhang bottling is a one-off, shaped by a single cask and a single moment in time.
When it’s gone, it’s gone.

That’s what being an independent bottler means to us.
