The Up Front Brewing Taproom is open again this weekend! 4-11 Friday and Saturday!

I've had a few weeks off to get things straight, but we're back with a blast this weekend and I'll have a couple of new beers too!

1. Common Green V3 (4.7%) - a sessionable, hop-forward hazy pale, with El Dorado, Citra and Mosaic hops. The cans of this one sold out in record time, but I've kept some kegs back for the taproom, AND just a handful of cans for the fridge!

2. Světlý Řéw (4.1%) - Czech pale lager, brewed with traditional floor-malted Bohemian pilsner malt.

Come down and grab a pre-release taster on draught - cans and kegs will go live hopefully in the next week.

We'll be using this weekend to test out our new Lukr style side pull pilsner tap too! If there's more than a handful of these taps in the whole country I'd be seriously surprised! I know of but one in Glasgow! It makes a huge difference to the beer, but don't take my word for it, if you want to try the same keg on side pull and standard format dispense, then we'll have both options from the same keg this weekend only - why not head down and see which format you prefer?

Oh, and as an added bonus for the CASK drinkers, we'll also have a single firkin of Pomona, my 5.5% NEIPA on gravity pour! This weekend only, and when it's gone it's gone!

PRE-RELEASE ANNOUNCEMENT!

Common Green V3 is dropping today, but only on social media. If there's any left on Monday it'll go out in a sales email, but it is in extremely short supply, so acting NOW might just be your only chance to get it!

Citra, Mosaic and El Dorado hazy pale 4.7%, with 8g/L whirlpool hops (whole leaf), and 12g/double dry hopped (cryo/T90s). Dank, with ripe pineapple and mango, and strong grapefruit, tangerine and lime zest, backed up with a well balanced bitterness (~30 IBUs)

I went back to the drawing board with this one, completely reworked the water profile, malt bill, and hop regime, and this time it's fermented on London III yeast. I could have called this a NEIPA, or a NE pale, but I'm getting a bit sick of that, so I'm just calling it a "pale". Definitely the hoppiest beer I've released in a couple of years, and with a decidedly sessionable ABV this is not one to be missed.

Being as this is one of the shortest canning runs I have ever done, if you want to get your hands on some then jumping on the web shop right now (or Sellar if you're a trade account) might be your only chance to get it.

First come first serve, and to keep it fair, we're going to limit this to max 24 cans per order.

And yes, there's kegs, but I'll be keeping most of them for when the taproom reopens in a few weeks (all going well!) and for a few festivals! Only six kegs on Sellar, right, now! Go go go! 🥰

Up Front Brewing Taproom - update, and open again this weekend! Fri and Sat 5-11. 🥰

Firstly, thank you all for your support so far - I just wanted to give you all the heads up as soon as I knew, but the taproom will likely have to close at some point in the not too distant future. It's a long story, and I'm happy to discuss it, but just maybe not here. Everything is fine and we should hopefully be able to open again at some point but I have no idea right now if/when that might be. 😔

For the next few weekends at least, we should be open as usual, and hopefully by now most of you know the drill... We will have a fine selection of the best locally produced craft beer - Six draught lines: low ABV lemon radler, German lager, pale ale, New England IPA, fruited German sours, and a salted caramel wee heavy.

We've also got a fridge stocked with some fantastic beers from local, independent breweries, as well as wines, alcohol-free beers, kombucha and soft drinks.

I have a selection of bar snacks, and you're more than welcome to order in a takeout to eat on site.

Dog friendly, and I'm allowed accompanied children on site until 10pm

Off sales till 10pm, so even if you can't make it in for a pint, why not come in and grab some cans for the weekend? 🥰

We're in the yard behind Fower coffee on Hamilton Road Industrial Estate, just follow the Christmas lights, we're at the back on the right - find us on Google maps by searching "Up Front Brewing". I'll get the heaters blasting right now so that it's toasty warm for this evening! Hopefully catch some of you tonight or tomorrow.

Introducing... SASSENACH (8.4% ABV) - A rich, complex, and multi-layered Wee Heavy/Scotch Ale, brewed with Scottish base malt, caramel malt, toasted oats, flaked wheat, caramelised brown sugar, a smidge of salt, and just a wee touch of caramelised lactose. Hopped with English whole leaf hops and fermented with an ester-forward English ale yeast.

Thick bodied, with a complex caramel malt backbone, fruity esters, and a robust bitterness to balance the smooth salted-caramel sweetness. Unfined, unfiltered and 100% vegetarian friendly.

This beer was planned for Burns night, but fate intervened, and it needed just a little bit longer in tank - I didn't want to release it until it was just right! Available now in 440ml cans and 20L keykegs, at an undeniably competitive price!

Guess who's back? Clemenade!!!

A 5.2% ABV lip-smackingly sour clementine and passionfruit gose, with 20% fresh fruit juice and puree, Indian coriander seeds, and pink Himalayan salt - tart and refreshing, jumping with fruity aromatics, and slightly salty. Available in 24x440ml cases, and 20L keykegs!!!

I've also just labelled up a HUGE batch of Das Ist Techno S*x, and it's an absolutely banging batch! Available in 30L keykegs and 24*440ml cases.

Two new beers out today, and they're both hoppy wee stunners!!!

POMONA - 5.5% ABV - Double dry hopped NEIPA brewed with extra pale Maris Otter malt and flaked oats, hopped with Harlequin, Citra and El Dorado, and fermented on Pomona hybrid IPA yeast, developed by the absolute legends at Escarpment labs in Toronto. Expect mango, pineapple, citrus and soft stone fruits.

TURBINE - 4.5% ABV - A sessionable hazy American pale ale, brewed with Maris Otter, flaked oats, and just a touch of crystal malt, hopped with Idaho 7 and Citra, and fermented on a neutral ale yeast. Expect tangerine, grapefruit, lime and mango.

Both beers are available in cans, kegs, casks, and even wee 5L mini casks (cuties! 🥰) for Christmas.

Confession time, I've been open pretty much every Friday and Saturday in October and haven't told anyone here... Sorry guys... I've been mad busy so have just been posting in the Strathaven page... Anyway we'll be open this Friday and Saturday 5-11pm. We will have the shutters down and the heaters blasting both nights.

There will be a prize for the best Halloween fancy dress costume on Friday, which I will arbitrarily decide to award to one of you in a nonchalant fashion, or maybe several of you, if the costumes keep getting better... Who knows?

Alex will be manning the pumps for the pre-firework show warm-up session, and will be awarding a prize for the biggest firework. (I'm kidding, please don't bring fireworks!). We will try to get the gazebo up outside so that people can get a good view of the fireworks, and if there's enough demand we might even just open the roller doors for a bit, as I believe we will have a reasonable view of the display.

Feel free to bring your kids and unless anyone tells me otherwise, you are fine having sparklers in the yard (obviously at your own risk - and if anyone from NFU Mutual is reading this, then obviously my account has been hacked, as I would never tell anyone they could bring sparklers).

Just to answer the inevitable - we are in the yard behind Fower Coffee on Hamilton Road Industrial Estate (ML10 6UB). You can find us on Google maps, and maybe even on "iPhone maps" or whatever they use, no idea, maybe one of you can tell me.

Addendum: I'm going to start putting my opening hours in my Instagram bio - as we are still operating on occasional licences/trying to juggle child care commitments etc, times and days might change on a weekly basis, so this is the best way to keep up to date.

Das Ist Techno S*x is *FINALLY* back in stock, but it might not be around for long!

The webshop has been restocked, and Sellar has been updated.

Nearly half of this batch has already been sold via presale, and I've already turned down a few larger wholesale orders to keep some for direct accounts.

Get in quick if you want to avoid disappointment - preference, as always, will be given to customers who come direct. If you're a NEW trade account and want to buy through Sellar for the first time, you have to reach out to me directly before doing so, or your order might be cancelled - they charge 15% commission for first time orders, on top of the monthly fee, unless I add you beforehand.

Orders received and paid by midday today will ship for delivery on Friday.
