190 years. Five decades of casks. One extraordinary marriage. 🥃

We sat down with Peter Donnelly from to taste the newly released Glenfarclas 190 — the final chapter in the distillery’s Anniversary Trilogy, following the 175 and 185.

To create it, Distillery Manager Callum Fraser and MD Douglas Belford reviewed the entire Glenfarclas warehouse and hand-selected 78 casks spanning five decades — fruitier spirit from the 1970s, the rich, intense sherry weight of the 1980s and 90s, and the toffee and caramel character of casks laid down in the 2000s. Bottled at 51.4% ABV, non-chill filtered, no added colour.

The result is unmistakably Glenfarclas — that deep, velvety sherry foundation running through everything — but with a layered complexity that only five decades of cask history can deliver. Green apple, spiced Christmas cake, dark chocolate and a long finish of fresh to***co and dried fruit.

One of Speyside’s great family distilleries at its most commemorative. Just 15,000 bottles worldwide.

Straight from the distillery gate to our shelves — three Duty Paid Samples from Springbank, the wire-caged bottles you can only buy in person at Campbeltown, one per customer, per week. We don’t get these often, and once they’re gone, that’s it.

🔥 Longrow 8 Year Old — Distilled 2015, bottled 2023, single fresh sherry cask, 58.2% ABV. Bonfire smoke and dark fruit, wrestling it out from the first sip. Brooding stuff.

🔥 Longrow 9 Year Old — Distilled 2015, bottled 2024, single fresh sherry cask, 56.4% ABV. Same distillation as the 8, an extra year in wood — rounder, more integrated, still plenty of smoke.

⚓ Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strength, Batch 29 (2026) — 100% ex-bourbon, 56.6% ABV. A step away from recent sherry-and-rum batches, back to Springbank at its brightest and most transparent.

🥃 Hazelburn 8 Year Old — Distilled 2008, bottled 2017, single refill bourbon hogshead, 60.9% ABV. Triple-distilled, unpeated, bright and citrus-driven — a genuine snapshot of Hazelburn in its youth.

Four bottles just arrived at Holy Spirits — and this week it is firmly fine w**e territory. 🍷✨

🍒 Hudelot-Noëllat — Chambolle-Musigny Village 2023 — One of Burgundy’s most quietly revered estates, now in the assured hands of Charles Van Canneyt. Eleven parcels across the village, blended into one seamless expression — lithe, floral, muddled strawberry and raspberry, creamy texture and the gentlest lift of orange zest. Chambolle at its most charming. [LINK]

🌊 Chanin — Zotovich Vineyard Chardonnay, Sta. Rita Hills 2022 — Gavin Chanin is one of Santa Barbara’s most thoughtful voices, working cool, wind-influenced sites with an almost Burgundian restraint. The Zotovich comes from the Sta. Rita Hills — one of California’s great homes for Chardonnay — and it shows: citrus peel, green apple, white nectarine, struck flint and a fine saline edge. Taut, linear, architecturally precise. A w**e of quiet authority. [LINK]

🌿 Roc des Boutires — Pouilly-Fuissé 2022 — Old-vine Chardonnay on Jurassic limestone at the heart of the appellation, the same substratum as the grands crus of the Côte d’Or. Lemon, white flowers, fine flint and baking spice, with real volume on the palate and a taut mineral finish. Mâconnais Chardonnay that punches well above its postcode. [LINK]

🌰 Kistler — Les Noisetiers, Russian River Valley Chardonnay — California’s answer to grand cru Burgundy. Whole-cluster pressed, native yeast, full malo, aged on lees in French oak — unfiltered, unfined. Lemon confit, white flowers, tangerine oil, a touch of hazelnut and a finish of extraordinary resonance. Stunning. [LINK]

Bruichladdich Old Skool | Aged 10 Years
A 25th-anniversary release marking a quarter-century since Bruichladdich’s revival in 2001, distilled entirely from Islay-grown barley sourced from 14 local farming partners, in a retro label inspired by the distillery’s 1980s look. Ripe stone fruit, vanilla custard, a gentle coastal salinity.

Octomore 17.3 | Islay Barley Edition
The peatiest release in this year’s Octomore series at a thumping 132.1 PPM — single farm, single field, single vintage barley grown just two miles from the distillery on Octomore Farm. Salted caramel and smoked apple meet dry, ashy campfire smoke.

Tormore 16 Year Old Sherry Cask | “Pearl of Speyside”
Part of Tormore’s first-ever permanent core range, relaunched this year by Elixir Distillers (the team behind The Wh**ky Exchange) to bring this long-overlooked Speyside distillery — historically used mostly for blending — into the single malt spotlight in its own right. Rich dates, demerara fudge, warm baking spice.

Isle of Raasay | The Draamers’ Cask #5 — Port Cask
A genuine first for the distillery — their debut Port cask release, and a proper rarity at just 253 bottles. Their punchier peated spirit spent time in an ex-Bordeaux red w**e barrique before finishing twelve months in ex-Tawny Port — the layered cask work that separates a serious single cask from an ordinary limited edition. Bottled at natural cask strength, 58.6% ABV.

🔵 Signatory Vintage 100 Proof — “Speyside (M)” 18 Year Old — The open secret of the wh**ky world: Signatory’s “Speyside (M)” is Macallan, labelled cryptically because the distillery historically didn’t permit independent bottlers to name them. An 18 year old, first-fill Oloroso sherry butt, bottled at 57.1% ABV — non-chill filtered, naturally coloured. All the Macallan DNA you love — dark chocolate, stewed prunes, figs, leather and warming spice — at a fraction of the official price. One of the great value propositions in wh**ky right now.

🏔️ Springbank 21 Year Old — 2026 Release — One of the most eagerly anticipated annual releases in all of Scotch wh**ky, and arguably Springbank at its most majestic. This year’s vatting is 65% port, 25% bourbon, 5% rum and 5% sherry casks, bottled at 46% ABV. Medjool dates, sticky toffee pudding and blood orange on the nose; smoked figs, caramelised brown sugar, cigar box and blackberries on the palate, with a long finish of banana bread, cinnamon spice and savoury earthiness. Campbeltown royalty.

🌊 Isle of Raasay 7yo — Na Sia “Through The Ages”, Unpeated Ex-Bordeaux Red W**e Cask — Part of Raasay’s brilliant biennial series following the same cask types as they age. Distilled November 2018, bottled July 2026 — just 284 bottles at 60.1% ABV. Casks sourced fresh from Margaux châteaux in Bordeaux, delivering dark dried fruits, blackberries, plums and sultana with a beautifully coastal Hebridean character underneath. Hand-bottled, non-chill filtered, UK exclusive.

Four rare independent bottlings just landed — each one built around a forgotten piece of Scottish history, folklore and legend.

⚓ WILLIAM KIDD — Jamaican Rum, Aged 19 Years
Named for Scotland’s most infamous “pirate.” A blend of two Jamaican rums — 2000 first-fill bourbon barrels and 2005 refill bourbon finished in peated quarter casks. Nose: typical Jamaican funk, banana bread, walnuts and pipe to***co. Palate: complex sweet spice, hay and ripe tropical fruit.

🚢 THE GREAT MICHAEL — Blended Scotch, Aged 21 Years
A tribute to King James IV’s mighty “Black Ship.” Grain wh**ky and aged malts (including Campbeltown), finished in second-fill bourbon barrels that once held heavily peated wh**ky. Nose: candied fruit, apples and old dunnage warehouse notes. Palate: fresh to***co, sweet smoke, milk chocolate and candy floss sweetness.

🏇 THE QUADRILOGY — Blended Grain Scotch
Inspired by the self-proclaimed “Emperor of the North.” Four single grain whiskies, four distilleries, four decades, four cask types. Nose: rich, unctuous, peachy with creamy dairy toffee. Palate: elegant balance of honey, nuts, peaches and apricots.

✝️ THE RELIQUARY — Blended Grain Scotch
A tribute to Robert the Bruce’s heart, finally laid to rest at Melrose Abbey. Single grain whiskies from every decade since the 1970s. Nose: fresh, light lemongrass, hay and lemon zest. Palate: apples, malt, barley sugar and orange, with a lightly citric finish.
