MAYDAY MAYDAY

Balls!!!!

I may have damaged one of those IBCs...

Oh god!

The ear ache I will get...they are brand new....

As you may have realised some of the pigs are watered using these, known as IBC's. (Intermediate Bulk Container). We don't have water across the entire farm (yet!) So in the meantime have these to get water to all corners for the pigs.
As you have probably realised, between me and Mr S, we have broken quite a few in the last few months.
With this extreme heat, these have become a priority. So the two of us have agreed (which is abnornal) to get some more!
8 new IBC's...
What do you think - who will damage this first one???

Everyone else seems to have had rain, we watched someone else have it, whilst wishing that it would come our way.

We are going to have to do a rain dance at this rate..

And finally, wrapped. First silage in for 2026.

Thank goodness- as we are running out! No rain is causing havoc for the cattle! No grass out the field!!

Then baled...

I'm running 24hrs behind on the update of the silage! Sorry!

Yesterday Mr S rowed up the silage ready to bale!

Ah, excuse me, if Mr S catches you in here, he's going to be very cross... Please could you vacate... ThanksMrs Silk

A 'keeping it real' post... and not a happy one!

Whilst others enjoy there first (very!) hot Bank Holiday and are probably now tucked up in bed. We are just finishing up. Today has been hot - which has meant numerous checks on pigs because of the heat through out the day, as well as normal jobs. And don't forget Mr S is trying to get silage bales sorted!

So yes, I have finished the animals later than normal...

Only half an hour, I'd say! And I've come to find the chicken pen is no longer occupied. Mr Fox has has supper. He appears to have also taken a midnight snack and he's also killed ready for breakfast, lunch and dinner tomorrow...

Great.

2 dogs on the yard, but Mr Fox does not give one hoot...

A bit of grass cut yesterday, ready for silage!

Video of the cattle proving that they believe Mr S purchase was a 'Good purchase'...

24/05/2026

I forgot to mention Mr S has a new 'toy' ...!

Now I should mention that he and I have a weird relationship... When I go off for the day, he may never know that I had acquired more pigs (as an example)..
But if he goes off for the day, I KNOW he's coming back with a new machine... this time he has purchased a mixer!

This Is the video I was sent on its arrival of its new destination!

He has wanted one for a while and with our growing number of cattle, he can now mix some of our straw and silage up into a nice healthy, deliciously tasting mix!

The cattle seem to agree!
