We’ve had some amazing support for what we’re building. Every share, comment and recommendation means a lot.

But farmers still need orders before they need applause.

That applies wherever you shop. Through FarmCo, at a farm shop, at your local market or directly from a producer.

Local food can cost more. We know price matters, and everyone has a budget. But there’s value in the quality, the taste, knowing who produced your food and keeping more of your spending in your community.

You don’t have to change your whole weekly shop. A box of eggs, some seasonal veg or meat from a nearby farm all count.

• Buy from a local farmer when you can.
• Tell someone when you find something good.
• Help make those purchases a regular thing.

We have 30 farmers in the onboarding process and we’re working on more collection and delivery options.

Meet Emma Douglas, the farmer behind .

We’ve worked with Emma since FarmCo’s first days, over nine years ago. This film gives you a little more of her story.

Emma farms with her family on Gower, keeping Welsh Black and Dexter cattle that graze traditional hay meadows and help manage the land.

Her knowledge of grazing extends beyond her own farm. She also works in independent grazing consultancy and has worked with Pasture for Life, supporting other farmers across Wales.

Here, she shares what Pasture for Life accreditation means for her farm, how she raises her cattle and why she farms this way.

80,000 people watched us talk about a new way to buy food from farms. Now it’s working.

Farmers are joining FarmCo. Customers are placing orders. People are eating good food, and farmers are getting paid.

We’ve built a decentralised marketplace where you can find a farm, see what it produces and buy directly from that producer. The food stays with them until collection or delivery. We’ve started across Swansea, Gower and East Wales, and we’re working with more farms now.

The map still has gaps. We want to fill them with farms people can know and buy from.

This one stopped us in our tracks.

Since relaunching FarmCo with a completely new model, much of our time has been spent onboarding farms, fixing snags and getting everything working properly behind the scenes.

Then this review arrived.

It captures exactly what we hoped FarmCo could become. Brilliant food, simple collections, genuine contact with the people producing it, and more money staying with local farms.

Knowing that someone has ordered through FarmCo, collected their food, met the farmers and tasted the difference means a huge amount.

We have never really shared reviews before, but this felt worth sharing in full.

Thank you, M West. We don’t know who you are, but you’ve given our small team and our farmers a real lift.

And thank you everyone who has placed an order, collected from a farm, told a friend or supported this new chapter so far.

This is why we do it.
