Who would have thought that the scared little escapee, who used to run down the field as soon as you opened the gate, would turn into the jumper pulling, attention seeking, cuddle lover? 🩷🥰

🐴 🐑🌿 Important Message for Our Village Communities 🌿🐎

Owners of the free-roaming animals are asking for your help.
While grass bags left out for refuse collection may seem harmless, they can pose a serious risk to animals such as sheep and horses that roam freely in our villages.

Grass cuttings and certain plants can be highly toxic. There have been several cases over the years of sheep being poisoned and horses becoming seriously ill — and sadly, some animals have died after consuming this type of waste.

If you are putting bags out for collection, please try to keep them covered, place them in a secure spot, or put them out as late as possible before collection to reduce the risk.

A small action can make a big difference in protecting these animals.

🙏 Please be mindful and help keep our community — and its animals — safe.

Harriet, my Moon Goddess Goat 🌙✨
As we move toward the new moon on January 18th, her energy has shifted once again. Little sideways hops, playful nudges, soft headbutts, and that unmistakable sparkle in her eyes. The same wild joy she carried at the last full moon. It’s as if she’s dancing to a rhythm written in moonlight.

Animals like Harriet are still deeply woven into luna cycles. They feel the pull, the hush, the renewal, not intellectually, but instinctively. While many of us have drifted away from these natural rhythms, guided instead by clocks, screens, and schedules, animals remain fluent in the language of the sky. They don’t need reminders, they remember.

Once, humans lived this way too. The moon shaped our sleep, our stories, our moods, our rituals. Over time, that connection thinned, but the moon never stopped speaking. Harriet reminds me that the bond is still there, waiting quietly for us to notice again.

And there’s a reason for that ancient understanding, the word lunatic comes from the Latin luna, meaning moon. It once described those believed to be touched or influenced by lunar power, a reflection of how deeply people trusted the moon’s effect on life itself.

Maybe I should just call Harriet a lunatic. 🤔 🐐 🌙 ✨
