Customers have been wonderful about continuing to shop at HBH over the last year. Thank you ever so much!
And now, as committed when I took on the shop, HBH is ready to give some funds to local causes, and is asking customers to nominate a charity or CIC. It would be really nice to support small charities working within the local community for which a small fund will be far more useful and meaningful than a charity/CIC with capacity to access grants. There's a nomination box at the shop or you could comment your nomination here by end of April. Thanks ever so much.

For anyone caring for someone with dementia or Alzheimer's, this poem blog by Carlos, one of HBH's customers, would be a good place for support along this unchosen path. Carlos opens his heart and shares his experiences of his own journey with his lovely wife Wendy, describing the challenges, how he deals with them, and the pain and loneliness of the gradual loss. He illustrates his poems with Wendy's beautiful paintings. It would be useful to anyone facing dementia, and he really values engagement with others on this lonely and difficult journey.
