Two w**es. Two countries. Two reasons to celebrate 🎉

We’re delighted to see two Condor w**es featured in this month’s Decanter, each shining a light on a different side of South American w**e.

🇨🇱 La Despensa W**es - País 2023 – 95 points
Featured in ‘Chile: Under the Radar’ by Alistair Cooper mw. Praised for its bright fruit, savoury character and balance – and described as “a different example of País” that “really hits the spot”.

🇦🇷 Bodega Piedra Negra - L’Esprit de Chacayes 2024 – 94 points
Selected for ‘Mendoza’s Emerging Crus’ by **e. Celebrating the exciting regional identities emerging across the country. This Malbec/Côt blend from Los Chacayes was praised for its precise red fruit, floral and mineral notes, freshness and ageing potential.

Two brilliant examples of the diversity, sense of place and discovery that make South America so exciting right now. 😍

🍷 Every range deserves a beautiful blend.

Blending gives w**emakers the freedom to bring different grapes, vineyards and characteristics together – creating w**es with complexity, balance and individuality.

And these five show just how creative that can get:

🍇 Hermandad Blend from Falasco W**es – Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Merlot from three 1,100m+ Uco Valley subregions,

🤍 Alandes Paradoux White – Karim Mussi's blockbuster Semillón and Sauvignon Blanc, barrel fermented and aged for a textured, mineral style with a crisp herbal finish.

🌿 Clo de Lolol White – Sauvignon Blanc meets Chardonnay in Hacineda Arucano's organic and biodynamic single-vineyard blend from coastal-influenced Lolol.

🏊 La Despensa W**es Pool Blend – Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvèdre and País: bright, perfumed and packed with fresh red fruit.

⛰️ Cuvée El Camino – Cabernet Sauvignon and Carménère from Dagaz W**es in Pumanque show elegance, minerality, freshness and expression of place.

Five very different w**es. One reminder that sometimes the magic is in the mix.

🎶 Try them at the Grapest Hits Tastings this September.

✈️ Want to sell Argentine w**e with a story you’ve actually lived? 🇦🇷🍷

Our 2027 Argentina Discovery Trip isn’t just an incredible few days away. It’s a chance to get under the skin of Argentine w**e – meeting the people behind the bottles, standing in the vineyards and experiencing the places, food and culture first-hand.

And that experience comes back with you.

As one of our previous incentive winners told us:

💬 “In a world where there’s so much choice on the shelf, being able to say ‘I was there, in the vineyard, drinking this with the w**emaker’ gives customers a completely different connection to the w**e.”

This time, we’ll be travelling from the spectacular high-altitude vineyards of Salta to Mendoza, with w**ery visits, tastings, vineyard lunches and the chance to experience magical Vendimia fiesta along the way.

🍇 Want to join us?
Our latest trade incentive is open to both new and existing Condor customers.

Every range deserves a few grapes that get customers talking.

Lesser-known grape varieties are a brilliant way to spark conversation, encourage discovery and give customers another reason to come back. These four w**es prove that looking beyond the familiar names can be richly rewarding.

At Grapest Hits, we'll be pouring:

🍇 Bodega Bresesti Arinarnoa – a rare crossing of Tannat and Cabernet Sauvignon, producing a w**e that's rich, vibrant and unmistakably Uruguayan.

🌿 Onofri W**es Alma Gemela Pedro Ximénez – not the sweet w**e many expect, but a fresh, characterful dry white from the rugged vineyards of Desierto de Lavalle.

🍒 La Despensa Boutique W**ery Estate País – old vines of one of South America's oldest grape varieties, dry farmed to produce a bright, juicy and beautifully drinkable w**e.

🍷 Vinos Toro de Piedra Gran Reserve Carignan – showcasing how this historic French import thrives in Chile, producing w**es with a delicious combination of concentration and freshness.

Try them all at Grapest Hits W**e Tastings and discover how lesser-known grape varieties can become some of the most memorable w**es in your range.

Every range deserves both the benchmark and the next big discovery.

Marlborough remains one of the world's great w**e success stories. But alongside the classics, today's customers are increasingly looking for new regions, new stories and new favourites. Pairing a benchmark with an emerging region is a great way to offer both confidence and discovery.

At Grapest Hits, we'll be showcasing two producers that capture the very best of New Zealand 🇳🇿:

Ant Moore W**es
Benchmark Marlborough w**es, including Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, showcasing the purity, vibrancy and character that have made the region famous.
Beautiful W**ery
From North Canterbury, one of New Zealand's most exciting emerging w**e regions, these Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir offer elegance, freshness and the chance to help customers discover their new favourite w**e from NZ.

Try them all at Grapest Hits W**e Tastings and discover why New Zealand's story is about far more than one region.

🎉 Congratulations to Rob on five years with Condor W**es!

Rob joined us in 2021 as the first person to take on the Operations role – and over the past five years, he's shaped it into an essential part of the business.

From making sure the right bottles are in the right place at the right time to finding solutions to the many challenges a w**e supply chain can throw at you, Rob's persistence, expertise and willingness to help make a huge difference to our customers, suppliers and everyone at Condor.

And, of course, there's always a spreadsheet for the occasion... 📊

We've put together a few memories from his five years with us to celebrate.

What's next for New Zealand w**e 🇳🇿?

At Condor, we believe understanding a region means bringing together the people who grow the w**es with the people who sell them.

That's why we invited Ant Moore W**es and Mt. Beautiful W**ery to join some leading independent w**e merchants, to discuss the opportunities for New Zealand w**e in the UK.

The conversation explored everything from Marlborough's enduring appeal to the growing excitement around regions such as North Canterbury—and has been published in this month's W**e Merchant Mag 👀

Thanks to everyone who joined us for this fascinating conversation 🙌.

Every range deserves w**es that tell the story of where they come from.

From the soaring vineyards of Salta to the cool, windswept landscapes of Patagonia, Argentina's most distinctive w**es are often shaped by the places where growing vines is anything but easy. These four w**es show just how much altitude, latitude and climate can influence what's in the glass.

At Grapest Hits, we'll be pouring:

From Salta 🏔️

Inca Torrontés from Bodega Lavaque – grown at high altitude, delivering the vibrant aromatics and freshness that have made Torrontés Argentina's signature white variety.

Abras Malbec from Karim Mussi – Cafayate-grown Malbec with the pure fruit, elegant minerality and freshness that altitude brings.

From Patagonia 🌬️

Ojos del Sur Malbec (Patagonia) – a cool-climate expression with intense fruit, subtle floral notes and a beautifully balanced finish.

Parcela Tamarisco Pinot Noir from Bodegas Verum – showing why Patagonia has become one of Argentina's most exciting regions for elegant, food-friendly Pinot Noir.

Try them all at Grapest Hits W**e Tastings and discover how Argentina's extraordinary landscapes create w**es with a true sense of place.
