Another Meggsius Count & Control installation successfully completed! 🥚⚙️

This project marks an exciting first for our team: integrating Meggsius Count & Control while making use of the farm’s existing inverters!

By combining accurate egg counting with automated control of the egg flow, Meggsius Count & Control helps create a smooth and consistent collection process, supporting egg quality, optimising capacity and reducing the amount of manual intervention required.

Being able to integrate the solution with existing equipment gives our team another valuable option when looking at upgrades for poultry farms.

💡 Tip of the Month: Getting the Most from Your Ovoclear

During the first few weeks of a flock, there are more feathers and the eggs are stronger; the perfect conditions for Ovoclear!

As the flock matures, feather levels naturally decrease and eggshell quality can become more variable. If you're finding that an increase in cracked or leaking eggs is leading to more frequent cleaning, there's a simple way to adapt your setup.

🔧 𝘼 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙞𝙥 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙯𝙚𝙣 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙧, 𝙋𝙝𝙞𝙡: Once most of the feathers are gone, remove the silicone rollers from your Ovoclear. This converts it into a standard inspection roller conveyor, making routine cleaning quicker and easier when required. When the next flock starts, simply reinstall the rollers and Ovoclear is ready to get back to work 🪶

Most floor eggs are treated as a nest problem, when most often, they’re a biology-and-management problem.

Broiler breeders live with a built-in tension: they are genetically selected for fast growth, but reproductive success depends on careful body weight control, stable routines, and low-stress movement through the house.

That means nest use is shaped long before the egg is laid.

3 things matter more than many teams realise:
🐔Feed restriction changes bird sensitivity to stress
💧Water, light, and slat access shape where hens move in the morning
💡If the production house does not work with the bird’s natural rhythm, nest refusal becomes more likely

Good broiler breeder management is not about pushing birds into the “right” place. It is about designing the house and routine so the right behavior becomes the the easy option.

When did you last inspect your egg belts? 🥚🔧

Egg belts work hard every day. Regular maintenance helps protect egg quality, prevent unexpected downtime and extend the working life of the collection system.

A few important checks to include in your maintenance routine:
✅ Remove dirt, feathers and broken egg residue
✅ Check that the belt runs centrally and tracks correctly
✅ Maintain the correct tension, not too loose or too tight
✅ Inspect rollers, guides, connections and transfer points
✅ Look for fraying, cracks, stiffness, stretching or repeated slipping
✅ Investigate any unexplained increase in cracked eggs

There is no single replacement interval that suits every poultry house. Belt life depends on operating hours, belt type, house conditions, cleaning practices and system setup.

The best approach is to inspect regularly and replace the belt when wear begins to affect hygiene, tracking, reliability or careful egg handling, before an unexpected failure can interrupt egg collection.

Preventive maintenance today can help avoid egg losses and unplanned repairs tomorrow!

Another UK installation successfully completed!

Last week, our brilliant engineering team installed and commissioned two ECO Units at this site. By recovering heat from the outgoing house air, the ECO Units pre-heat fresh incoming air to support effective minimum ventilation. Which contributes to:

🌡️ More efficient temperature control
🔋Reduced energy use during colder conditions
