Mother_Cuppatea Herbal tea for womens hormone health & wellbeing
Tea & Trails walks 💕🥾🫖

I’m starting to think the wellness industry is making us feel worse about ourselves, not better. 🙈

Track your sleep. Hit your steps. Get your protein. Get your fibre. Drink enough water. Strength train. Meditate. Take your supplements. Sort your hormones. Reduce your stress. Oh, and make sure you’re getting enough bloody rest. 😂

Individually, lots of those things are great. I do plenty of them myself.

It’s the idea that we need to do ALL of them, ALL of the time, that I’m calling bu****it on.

I started Mother Cuppa because I believe the little things we do consistently matter. A decent cuppa. Getting outside. Drinking enough. Moving your body. Taking ten minutes when you need it.

Wellness shouldn’t feel like another job you’re failing at.

You don’t need to optimise your entire life. Sometimes good enough really is good enough. 💚

What’s one thing you’ve decided you’re no longer going to beat yourself up about in midlife? 👇

At what point did navigating menopause become another bloody full-time job?! 😂

There’s SO much noise around menopause now. What we eat. What we drink. Our cortisol. Our protein. Our supplements. Our sleep. Our stress. Our weight. Our steps. Our hormones… and apparently we need to spend a small fortune fixing all of it. 🙈

And yes, I appreciate the irony of saying this as a woman who literally sells herbal tea aimed at supporting women 😂

But I’ve never believed a cup of tea is going to magically fix menopause either.

I’m all for women having more information, more choices and better support. I just don’t think looking after ourselves should become another enormous list of things we’re apparently doing wrong.

These are a few of my menopause icks.

Now I REALLY want to hear yours. What would you add to the list? 👇

Eeeek another amazing sunset walk and I still can’t quite believe what Tea & Trails is becoming. 💚

I’m forever grateful that I decided to start these walks. What began as a little idea to get women outside has turned into this growing communiTEA of women walking, chatting, laughing and making new connections.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night. 💚

And we’ve got plenty more to come…

🌅 Thursday 10th September – Ivinghoe Beacon | 7pm
🍂 Wednesday 23rd September – Ashridge Estate | 7pm
🍁 Thursday 1st October – Whipsnade Tree Cathedral | 7pm

Then we’re off on our first ever Tea & Trails On Tour 🥾🍂

📍 Peak District | 9th–11th October

You can join us for one walk, a few, or make a weekend of it. And please don’t worry about coming alone — lots of women do.

So if you live near Tring in Hertfordshire, fancy a weekend in the peaks or live near by, this is your sign….

Comment WALK 🥾 and I’ll send you all the details and booking links.

How could I have been THIS bloody stupid?! 🙈😂

Nearly FOUR YEARS running a tea business and I’ve only just worked out what I’m actually selling.

Not herbal tea.

Not hydration. Not adaptogens. Not botanicals. Not even all the lovely things I know these blends can support us with.

I’m selling herbal tea to women who think they don’t like herbal tea. 😂

And apparently you lot have been trying to tell me this for years.

The reviews. The comments. The messages. The women who say “I normally hate herbal tea…” before telling me they’ve just ordered another four boxes.

It was staring me in the face.

So I think you’re going to notice a bit of a shift around here.

I’ll still talk about women’s health, hormones and why I choose the ingredients I do. That’s a massive part of why Mother Cuppa exists.

But I’m also going to talk a LOT more about the fact that herbal tea doesn’t have to taste like vaguely scented hot water. 😂

Because maybe I don’t need to convince you that herbal tea is good for you.

Maybe I just need to convince you that you can actually bloody LOVE drinking it.

And THAT I can do. 💚

If you’re one of those women with a graveyard of half-opened herbal tea boxes in the cupboard, comment WELLNESS and I’ll send you the collection I’d start with.

Much love,
Candice x

This was prompted by a wonderful business friend of mine becky i do handmade who chatted about Mum guilt recently.

and to who recently became a new Mummy and is navigating the very start of this journey (loving watching you grow btw!)

I know so many of my communiTEA and business friends are juggling the summer holidays.

And it made me think back to my days as a Mummy to a little one, juggling wanting to work and wanting to be a good Mum.

So as a Mum of a nearly 22 year old (literally can’t belive that) I thought it useful to share the biggest lesson from my own experience.

I so wish I had not wasted any energy on feeling guilty.

I felt guilty that I needed her to sleep so I could get on with work, I felt guilty for leaving her to go to work, I felt guilty if I had to miss something because of work.

I was ALWAYS the mum who forgot non uniform day, someones birthday party, was not always fully present and it left me feeling a lot of guilt.

Now that I can chat to Lilly about this, i realise she noticed nothing about the guilt I felt and it in no way changed her experience fo childhood.

If I could go back, i would totally unsubscribe form the guilt, it served no purpose at all.

I genuniely hope this reaches my mummy friends who are beating themselves up right now and bring a little comfort to know, your kids don’t even notice x

Now pour yourself a cuppa and relax, it’s ok to just take a moment to yourself to absorb that xx

Running a business is full on. And I’ve realised I really need time where I can completely disappear from it. ❤️

I bloody love my business, but I am also TERRIBLE at switching my brain off from it.

There is always something I could be doing. An email to write, content to create, something to sort, or an idea I’ve suddenly decided needs doing immediately. 😂

But put me in the mountains, with everything I need on my back and miles of walking ahead of me, and my brain finally shuts up.

A couple of days in the Lakes with James was exactly what I needed.

No laptop. Very little signal. Lots of walking, eating outside, laughing and just being together.

This is the stuff that gives me my energy back and properly fills my cup. ❤️

And yes, the irony of owning a tea company and saying fills my cup is not lost on me. 😂

Tell me, what’s the thing you do that properly switches your brain off and fills your cup? ❤️

I’m probably going to annoy the coffee lovers with this one… ☕️😂

I think we’ve somehow normalised surviving our daily lives with the power of coffee.

Reaching for a coffee to keep you going, makes me always wonder if our bodies are crying for something else…

When I read the article about coffee’s impact on cortisol it really made me question my daily coffee habit.

I chose to try a 28 day cleanse to start with, it was sooo hard! And made me feel so ill to begin with, that I kept thinking, this definitely can’t be good for me.

As an endo sufferer stress has such a big impact on my hormones and wellbeing, so any measures to reduce stress have a positive impact.

15 years later, I haven’t drunk coffee since and because of that one decision we have my energise blend.

A blend designed to give you a natural energy throughout the day, without spiking cortisol or jittery crashes.

And the ashwaghanda and schisandra help keep those hormones calm and balanced.

What type of lady are you?

A) Can’t survive without caffeine

B) caffeine free

C) questioning caffeine
