❗️IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT❗️

Dear loyal customers and friends

This is a very difficult post to write as we know that everyone has been coming to terms with the sudden loss of Stuart, Jill’s son and Helen’s brother. Over the last weeks we have been working on finding solutions to save the company.

Unfortunately, we have reached the inevitable conclusion that, without Stuart, the business cannot and should not continue. It is with heavy hearts that we have reached this outcome and are announcing that Sandys will not be reopening.

We would like to thank you all for your support and messages of kindness over the last month. They have brought so much comfort to the family. Thank you also for your continued loyal custom over the years.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate Stuart’s life at St Mary’s Church on Monday 26th January at midday and afterwards at the Stoop. Everyone is welcome to join us.

My family and I would like to express our gratitude to you all for your thoughts and condolences at the tragic loss of my son Stuart. Reading all the cards and messages and seeing all the flowers has brought great comfort to us all. I would like to extend our many thanks for the loyalty shown from all of our many customers, past and present.

Thank you so much for your kind messages, condolences, and patience during this incredibly difficult time. The care and understanding you’ve shown truly means a great deal to us.

Because of the circumstances, Sandys Fishmongers will unfortunately remain closed over the Christmas period and until further notice. We’re very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding more than we can say.

If you have already paid for an order, we are unable to fulfil any orders. Refunds Will be processed as soon as we’re able to. There may be some delays, and we kindly ask for your patience while we work through this.

We are profoundly shocked and deeply saddened to announce that Stuart Sandys, owner, manager and absolute heart of Sandys Fishmongers,

Has passed away suddenly this weekend.

The shop will remain closed for the time being but we will keep everyone updated over the coming days, via our website and social media platforms.

We appreciate your thoughts and prayers, and ask for privacy during this difficult time.
