We are introducing Kevin the duckling to the farmyard during the day.
He has been causing all sorts of duck drama since his arrival

But he will be exhausted from all his hard work for most of the day.
The egg on the left is well on its way too.
We can’t take the chicks out until all the eggs have hatched, as it can ‘shrink wrap’ the remaining eggs if they have pipped, and then they wouldn’t be able to hatch.
But that’s ok, there’s plenty of time.
The yolk of the egg, which they absorb immediately before hatching, nourishes them for up to 72 hours 🐣
