We've just opened a bottle of this brilliant Sicilian red from Cantine Paolini — and it's one of our favourites right now. Light, fresh and bursting with raspberry, cherry and redcurrant fruit. The kind of red you can serve lightly chilled on a warm day.
Watch Mark's tasting note above — and if you'd like to try it for yourself, come and find us this Sunday 31st May at Modbury Farm Shop in Burton Bradstock. We'll be in the yard from 10am–4pm with a selection of wines to taste, buy by the glass, or take home by the bottle. It's Modbury's Birthday Weekend so there will be food, local Dorset producers and a brilliant atmosphere too.

Mark's verdict on the Frappato is in - it's a great vintage!
This brilliant little Sicilian red from Cantine Paolini is one of our favourites right now. Light, lashings of raspberry and cherry - and at £11.99 it's genuinely hard to beat.

Do you know what this is? 👀
This silhouette was spotted at dawn this morning on the hillside above Cerne Abbas. That's no ordinary sunrise visitor!
Meet the Dorset Ooser — one of the most mysterious figures in English folklore. A grotesque half-man, half-beast with bullock's horns, flowing hair and a hinged jaw designed to gnash its teeth — part of Dorset tradition for centuries.
Every May Day morning the Wessex Morris Men dance at dawn beside the Cerne Abbas Giant to welcome in the summer, and the Ooser leads the way. After the dancing, the procession heads to the village for local ale, singing and celebration.
This is Dorset at its most ancient and brilliant. We love living and working here.
And while the Ooser was welcoming in May with local Cerne Abbas Brewery beer this morning, we'll be welcoming it with a glass of something equally good tonight. 🍷
