East Carlton Country Park is situated on the edge of the beautiful Welland Valley. The park is owned and managed by North Northamptonshire Council Country Parks Team. The Heritage Centre in the converted coach house and stables houses a display featuring the history of Corby and the development of the iron and steel industry in the town. The cafe is open all year and offers light meals, hot and co

ld drinks and ice cream. The first floor of the old coach house has a number of craft workshops where you can watch the individual craftsmen practice their skills. There are country walks throughout the park, through fine mature woodland and grasslands. You can see a varied habitat and a great variety of wildlife throughout the year. The Hall is unfortunately not open to the public but can be viewed from the park. The present hall, built in 1863 on the site of a previous hall, is thought to be the third hall on this site. Like all old buildings, it does have a ghost who has on occasions been known to visit the old coach house.

EXTREME HEAT WARNING 🌞🌞

The Met Office has issued a rare red warning of extreme heat from 9am on Wednesday 24 June to 9pm on Thursday 25 June for parts of Northamptonshire. This is further to the amber warning that is currently in place.

If you are visiting our parks, please
🥤 ensure you have plenty of water with you
🌳 keep to the shady areas, wear a hat and apply sun cream
🐕‍🦺 walk your dog early or late when the temperatures are at their lowest
💧 STAY OUT of unsupervised bodies of water

The current Public Space Protection Order relating to dog control is under review. If you would like to find out more please visit the web site.

We are currently consulting on whether an existing Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) relating to dog control should be extended for a further three years.

The current PSPO was introduced in 2023 for the whole of the North Northamptonshire area.

Now, we are seeking to extend the PSPO for a further three-year period. There are no amendments proposed at this stage: https://ow.ly/y6aO50Zf52s
