Today I have been picking nettle seeds, a bit earlier than is normal but I have found a patch of nettles that seem to do their own thing and the seeds are definitely ready!
Nettle seeds have so many amazing health benefits (see list below). I was kept company by my youngest side kick- who took some lovely pictures whilst she was listening to me swear a bit because I wore shorts into a nettle patch 🫣

Another batch of the very popular Gherkin and mustard relish done! Busy day in the kitchen today. More wild garlic capers pickled, honeysuckle syrup made and elderflowers dried to use as a gorgeous floral spice, yummy on a brownie, added to shortbread, sweet scones or sprinkled on fresh strawberries 🍓- we are not doing an event until 20th June but message us if you want anything 🌱

Today is a syrup and salt day!
Beautiful elderflower (with a touch of lemon) syrup - picked and bottled within 3 hours, to add to soda water or tonic (+/- gin) or drizzle a teaspoon over our gorgeous British strawberries- a match made in heaven! 🍓
And wonderful rosemary - my rosemary bush is full of new growth, giving an intense flavour, what better to combine with garlic (and lemon) and sprinkle over your roasties?? Yum!

So pleased to announce that the Wild Garlic Capers are back! These little pops of spicy garlickyness (not sure that’s a word!) are my absolute favourite foraged food. They elevate any dish, and you only need a few! 💚🌱
