There's so much excellent scran to celebrate in Newcastle, and I want to share it with you!

My first meal out for a goodly while! Pre-gig scran with Jade at .vn in Sunderland. Prawn egg noodles alongside a lychee iced tea (including boba). An absolutely lovely Sunday treat which gave us plenty of fuel to get our dance on, and excellent value for money. We both agreed we'd be back to explore more of the menu!

I mean, it doesn't get much more than this absolutely magnificent spread from .72! The Whitley Bay had a lovely time picking at all the various meats, cheeses, and fruits whilst we discussed the book and caught up ahead of the holidays. I can think of no better way to celebrate than books, friends, and exquisite snacks. 🥰 Happy holidays everyone!

Happy birthday to me!

Strawberry seemed like the easiest theme, so I brought my decorations down to .72 in for some charcuterie 🧀 and cocktails 🍹 (strawberry kiss, obviously) with my dear friends. Finished off with a massive strawberry cheesecake from my beloved which everyone raved over. 🍰

I am filled with love and gratitude. Balm to the soul. 💖

Completely neglected to post this luscious peanut butter and cream scone from a few weeks back. Even though I was in a messy headspace, I still appreciated how fresh and delicious it was, and it made me grateful for the little treats in life when everything seems to be falling apart.

If I could eat every day for the rest of my life, I would be ever so happy. 🥰

Out with the lovely Maisy tonight for a much needed catch up (and pre-emptive workiversary) at in Jemond.

Mains: duo of chicken, Changeezi lamb chop, mustard salmon (I'll definitely be back for that!), and Sharmaji's Dunali seekh . With peshawari and onion , obviously.

For dessert: mango and passionfruit , plus a gorgeous to round off the evening.

Great friends and great food - what more could anyone ask for!

Girly date this afternoon setting the world to rights with at . 💖

Iced cinnamon chai, because and it was too hot for normal tea. ☕️ Meal choice today was Salt on Chili Road - salt and chili fried , pickled sesame slaw, mayo, fried onion, and fresh chili - on a gorgeous onion and garlic from . 🥯

Then, because my eyes are bigger than my stomach and I deserve a treat, an absolutely massive slice of Victoria sponge. Nowhere does like Claremont! 🍰

Had to bring most of both things home, but what a lovely dinner I'll have later!

A beautiful on Sunday at in . One of my favourite spots in town, and never fails to deliver!

Started with a gorgeous, refreshing Buddha bowl filled with lettuce, chicken pea , beetroot, broccoli, pickled red cabbage, and smoked . It also came with this magical dipping sauce of indeterminate origin which I adored. Sort of spicy, sort of nutty, entirely delicious.

Followed by a chocolate, caramel, and praline choux which was both rich and delicate.

Last night I celebrated the opening of the new .72 cocktail bar in !

For dinner we had a lovely sharing platter which included cured and nettle , not to mention gjestot (I can't resist a brown Scandi cheese!). I think Lauren is officially addicted to the cheese!

Cocktail options: I had a lovely banana coconut concoction, and Lauren had a bloody Mary (spice level tailored to taste). To follow, I enjoyed a bongo, featuring Old J and coconut, it was like a lovely fruit punch. Just how I like my .

Head down to Tynemouth and show them your support, the food is unreal and the cocktails are exquisite. Plus value for money is through the roof!

Lovely meal last weekend at .restaurantncl for some Ethiopian/Eritrean cuisine. 🤤 I opted for shakla ( seasoned with spiced and chili, cooked with onions and green chili, served with enjera. Wasn't expecting it to come served over glowing , but it was a lovely touch! 🥘

For drinks, a mango lassi (my favourite) and , which is a lovely honey .🫗 Considering how much of it you got, I thought the price was incredibly reasonable.

Some members of the party weren't happy with the wait time, but considering there were more than a dozen of us, I thought the restaurant did a brilliant job.

I can't wait to go back, as I'm very keen to try the sharing platter!

Last week I enjoyed an absolutely massive Texan BBQ Bacon from , plus fries and a lovely peanut butter . 🍔🍟🥤

I can be pretty snooty about burgers, but this was everything I wanted. So juicy and saucy the bottom bun disintegrated and we went through a stack of napkins. Which, frankly, is how it should be. 🤤

I thoroughly enjoyed the Beatles Bottomless Brunch at yesterday! I opted for the hot Japanese-style fried chicken with green onions, pickles, Korean buffalo mayo, Sechuan oil, and togarashi. With chips, it was the perfect way to soak up all the alcohol! Plus, it was served between sets, so I didn't have to forego singing along. 💖
